🦸‍♂️ Fatherhood Superhero Dad Spotlight – Antwon 🦸‍♂️

During Fatherhood June, we're proud to spotlight Antwon, our new Highway Construction Skills Training (HCST) Program Coordinator. A devoted father and grandfather, Antwon is also a mentor who is committed to helping HCST participants build brighter futures.

When asked what he enjoys most about fatherhood, Antwon shared:

"My favorite thing about being a parent is being a role model for my sons and grandson as they grow and develop their unique personalities, while at the same time seeing my own personality grow and form around them."

FSC has also played an important role in his journey as a parent:

"FSC has helped me by providing the opportunity to build a stable career for the benefit of my family. The family atmosphere has given me a greater sense of security, allowing me to stay dedicated to both our mission and my family."

His advice for other dads: "Let your kids do dangerous things carefully. Kids learn important life skills when they're allowed to take manageable risks."

Thank you, Antwon, for the example you set every day through your dedication to your family, your work, and the people you serve. We're grateful to have you on the FSC team.

If you're looking to build a stable career while supporting your family, FSC is here to help. Learn more about our employment and training services at www.fsc-corp.org.

Meet Eddie, an HCST participant who joined our Northeast Wisconsin program with one mission: build a better future for his daughter.

From day one of taking the HCST training, Eddie took the wheel of his own success. He earned his Class A CDL permit and FED/MED card entirely on his own, even before enrolling in Fox Valley Technical College's Behind the Wheel program. He went on to earn his Manual Class A CDL License with doubles and tanker endorsements, commuting daily from Appleton without ever missing a class or showing up late.

That consistency paid off. In April, Eddie was hired by a local construction company, where he's already dropped chutes and poured concrete across Appleton, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Scandinavia, and New London.

Through every early morning, every certification, and every challenge, Eddie's "why" never changed: his daughter.

Eddie’s success reflects what is possible when determination and fatherly devotion meets opportunity. Read his full story at the link below and join us in cheering him on.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the dads who make a difference every day—both on our team and in our programs.

During the day, they’re staff members, program participants, mentors, and role models. They’re building brighter futures by completing applications, strengthening resumes, earning certifications, and staying committed to every step of their journey.

But their most important role begins when the workday ends: being a dad. ♥️

Their greatest superpower isn’t found in a cape—it’s in their consistency, their dedication, and their unwavering presence for the people who depend on them most.

Today, we honor the everyday heroes who lead with love, strength, and commitment.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads in our community.

Today, we honor the courage it takes to start over: rebuilding a life, learning a new language, creating opportunities, and raising a family in a place that is becoming home.

When communities welcome refugees, everyone benefits. Refugees bring determination, talent, new perspectives, and an extraordinary ability to overcome challenges and build for the future.

That's why we're committed to walking alongside individuals and families as they rebuild their lives—connecting them with resources, opportunities, and a sense of belonging. Because "welcome" is more than a word; it's a commitment to community.

This World Refugee Day, we celebrate the contributions of refugees and reaffirm our commitment to building communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we can create a brighter future for all.

Juneteenth, a day honoring the end of slavery in the United States, is a time for reflection, education, and celebration of freedom and resilience.

We stand with our community in recognizing that the work toward equal opportunity, true equity, and justice for all is not finished. They remain goals we must actively pursue — together, every day.

While our offices are closed today in observance of this important holiday, our commitment to supporting all individuals and their dreams never stops. 🕊️

May we all use this time to reflect on how far we've come, and how far we still have to go. 🖤❤️💚

Some heroes save the day at work. Some save the day at home. Ilia, WIOA Career Services Specialist, does both. 💛💛

As the only male on his team, Ilia has brought something special to the culture around him. His "Diary of a Dad" updates brighten the workday and inspire his whole team to be more intentional, present, and thoughtful in their own lives. He has made fatherhood something worth talking about and celebrating at work.

At home, he's just as dedicated. From building his daughter a secret playroom under the stairs to keeping a special holiday calendar together, Ilia shows up for all of it: gymnastics, bedtime routines, hair styling, and proud cat dad duties too. 🐱🪄

The advice Ilia models every day, though he hasn't said it out loud, but it's clear: Show up.

Ilia, the way you show up — for your family AND your team — makes everyone around you better. 🌟🎉

This month, we're celebrating the dads on our team who show up — at work AND at home — with their whole hearts. Today, we're shining the spotlight on Cameron, FSET Team Lead in Dane County! 💛

Cameron was nominated by his coworker Rihab, who sits just a cubicle away and has a front-row seat to what makes him truly special:
"He doesn't just manage cases or answer questions — he listens with a truly big heart. He treats every single person who walks through our doors or calls our office with deep respect, guiding them and helping them through their challenges."

But Cameron's superpower doesn't clock out at 5. Right now, he's navigating two demanding phases of parenthood at the same time — helping his younger kids through their school years while also guiding his older kids through college. Now THAT'S a superpower. 💪🎓

As Rihab puts it: "A man who leads with empathy at work is a man who leads with love at home."

Cameron, thank you for modeling patience and dedication every single day. You make our team and our community better.

When you enroll in our FSET program, you are treated with respect and dignity by our dedicated staff. See how we can support you and your career goals: https://fsc-corp.org/program/foodshare-employment-and-training-fset/

Every superhero has an origin story — but Ed's superpower isn't a cape or a gadget. It's showing up, every single day, for the people who need him most. 🦸✨

As an FSET Case Manager in Dane County, Ed brings the heart of a dad to every participant he works with. He listens. He encourages. He believes in people's dreams even when they're still learning to believe in themselves. With hard work, unwavering dedication, and a positive attitude that never quits, Ed helps individuals take on their own challenges and come out stronger on the other side.

Ed was nominated by his coworker Rosanna, who says it perfectly: "He is an amazing coworker and an even more amazing dad! Ed's hard work, dedication, and positive attitude never go unnoticed, both in and out of the workplace!"

Ed, whether you're cheering on a participant reaching their goals or your own kids reaching theirs — you're a hero to them all. ♥️

✨ Do YOU have what it takes to be someone's hero? We're looking for passionate, dedicated people to join our team and help people achieve their dreams.
