Keck Lab
The Keck lab studies the basic mechanisms of DNA replication, recombination and repair.
Research in the Keck lab examines the structural mechanisms that drive DNA replication, replication restart, recombination, and repair reactions. Successful ex*****on of these pathways is essential in all cells, and defects in the proteins that facilitate genome maintenance reactions lead to genome instability, cell death, and disease. Our studies combine structural approaches with biochemical and cell biological methods to answer fundamental structure-function questions in genome biology.

As is always the case, this award is the lab’s award. Congratulations and thanks to all Keck Lab members past and present!
AAAS members make six UW researchers new fellows The honor, presented annually since 1874, recognizes efforts to advance science and society, with the fellows expected to maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity and professional ethics.
Congratulations to Sarah McMillan whose paper describing how mutations of a helicase loader affect its biochemical function was just published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry!
