Ok, we are starting up the last Engaging Data Visualization for Teaching and Learning of the 2012-3013 school year.

Tim Paustian from the Department of Bacteriology is presenting "Building a Better Model: Bacterial Structure from Structure Data."

Bill Bland from the Department of Soil Science is presenting "Visualizing and Manipulating Atmospheric Water V***r Data."

Academic Technology Senior Instructional Technology Consultants Blaire Bundy and Les Howles will be presenting at tomorrow's 21st Annual Medical Education Day.

They will talk about "Making the Case: Transform Your Course using Online Case Scenarios" from 10:30-11:45AM in Room 5001A in the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research.

Academic Technology Senior Learning Consultant Cheryl Diermyer was featured in the chapter titled Digital Storytelling in Higher Education in the fourth edition of "Digital Storytelling: Capturing Lives, Creating Community."

Check out this Situated Learning exhibit by Engage awardee Mary Hark in the School of Human Ecology. Her project is titled:
"Understanding Place as Inspiration for Sustainable Design: Place, Paper, Product"

Engage co-exhibited a poster on Situated Learning along with CALS-IP at this year's Campus Showcase.

Author Anya Kamenetz will be part of a presentation on the advancement in online learning opportunities tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Education Building. Kamenetz has authored several books and cited the Engage Program in her most recent book as a "place where people are thinking creatively about teaching and learning."
