Have you ever caught yourself reaching for your phone every time you have a free minute?

I started learning more about dopamine and realized I needed to be more intentional with the things I was using to “feel better.”

A dopamine menu is basically a list of simple things that give you a healthy boost... so when you’re bored, overwhelmed, or feeling off, you have options besides scrolling.

For me, it’s been a fun way to get back to the basics… movement, sunlight, hobbies, little moments of joy, and things that actually make me feel good.

What would be on YOUR dopamine menu?

🎀 Follow for realistic mental wellness, nervous system tips, and little reminders to take care of yourself 🌸

What would you add to this list?

• Saying yes automatically, then feeling resentful
• Constantly checking my phone without even realizing it
• Thinking I had to respond immediately to everyone
• Living in “go mode” and forgetting what it felt like to slow down
• Ignoring my body’s signals because I was too busy pushing through
• Overthinking every conversation and replaying what I said
• Trying to solve everything instead of letting myself just be
• Believing I needed a complicated routine instead of getting back to basics

Things that actually helped me:
🌿 getting outside
☀️ sunlight
🚶‍♀️ moving my body
🧘‍♀️ deep rest
📵 less stimulation
✍️ journaling
🤍 creating more moments where my body felt safe

I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned is… sometimes regulation isn’t about adding more. Sometimes it’s about slowing down enough to notice what your body has been asking for.

What’s something you thought was “just you” that you later realized was your nervous system trying to cope?

And as always, make sure to follow for more... 🌸

A few things that genuinely help build confidence: 🎀

Keep promises to yourself
Every time you say “I’m going to do this” and actually do it, you build self-trust.

Take action before you feel ready
Confidence usually comes after you start, not before.

Stop waiting for everyone’s approval
The more you need everyone to like your choices, the more you lose connection with yourself.

Get comfortable being imperfect
A lot of confidence comes from realizing you can mess up and still be okay.

Do hard things in small ways
Small wins stack up. They teach your brain: “I can handle this.”

Talk to yourself differently
The way you speak to yourself becomes the way you see yourself.

🎀 Stop comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel
Comparison will convince you that you’re failing when you’re actually growing.

Spend time with people who make you feel like yourself
The right environment can bring out confidence. Constant criticism can slowly shrink it.

Take care of your body
Movement, sunlight, sleep, nourishing food, and rest all impact how you feel in yourself.

Let yourself be seen
Confidence grows when you stop hiding pieces of yourself.

Accept that some people won’t understand you
Being yourself means not everyone will get you and that’s okay.
