MOOSE IS ON HIS WAY HOME❤️🐾
We are beyond relieved and incredibly happy to share that Moose was safely trapped early this morning and is officially on his way home to his family! We received another sighting late last week, thoroughly walked the area and set a trap where he’d been seen many times, and he’s now on his way home.
First and foremost, thank you. The amount of support, time, effort, and compassion shown throughout this situation has meant more to us than we can adequately put into words.
We especially want to thank Karen and Lori for everything they did to help bring Moose home safely, from distributing signs and flyers, to lending us the trap and setting it, to using their camera to remotely monitor it overnight. Your help was greatly appreciated.
We also want to thank everyone else who assisted in any way throughout this search:
💕Those who shared our posts far and wide
💕Helpful individuals who handed out flyers
💕The multiple people who called in sightings
💕Home owners & businesses who helped keep eyes on areas Moose was frequenting
💕Our contacts at Animal Control and the Sheriff’s Department for their assistance and guidance
💕Our staff, who spent countless hours working around the clock trying to safely locate Moose and bring him home
This has been an incredibly emotional and difficult experience for everyone involved. While we are choosing to focus on the positive outcome today, we also want to gently remind people that situations involving lost pets are heartbreaking and extremely difficult to navigate, whether it happens to an individual owner or to a business or organization caring for someone’s beloved pet.
No one ever wants this to happen. Our team was devastated by this accident, and every decision made throughout this process was done with Moose’s safety as the priority. We know emotions run high in situations like these because people care deeply about animals, as does our compassionate team at WCVC. We are incredibly grateful to those who approached this situation with kindness, understanding, and grace, and who focused their energy on helping bring Moose home safely.
Today, we are simply thankful. Thankful Moose is safe. Thankful for the community that came together to help. And thankful for everyone who supported the efforts to reunite him with his family.
Welcome home, Moose. ❤️

UPDATE ON MOOSE
First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who has helped us try and locate Moose. The kindness and understanding you have shown us while we navigate this horrible accident mean more than you know.
We do also want to note, Moose has been spotted a few times but he appears to have been spooked, and is hunkering down. If you see him, please do not chase or call for him, instead call 608-213-8864 or 920-240-9416 to report the sighting. We are trying to keep him contained to one area, and figure out where he's hiding.
If you'd like to help, we still have flyers that can be distributed. Please stop by the clinic today until 4PM, or Shelter From The Storm Animal Rescue this weekend from 9AM-7PM to pick up flyers. They can NOT be put in or on mailboxes, but you're welcome to distribute them elsewhere! We are working with Karen Schultz to help locate Moose, and if you're interested in more ways to help please reach out to us or her. Thank you in advance for helping us bring Moose home!

There’s been a sighting on Moose!! Spotted late last night on security footage nearby, and he is still wearing his cone. We’re calling all the business yet again to try and track him down, but please keep an eye out. We also got another photo of him from the owner, to help better show his size and what he looks like.
Reminder: do NOT chase him but please report any sightings to the owner at 920-240-9416

Please help us bring Moose home safely!
Moose is a 7-year-old, 100-pound, male, yellow Lab mix who went missing on Wednesday evening (May 6th) after escaping from his overnight kennel at WCVC. He was last seen on security cameras around 10:00 PM wandering through the clinic office at 4475 Robertson Road in Madison. We believe Moose was likely able to push an outside door open and leave the building sometime afterward.
Moose is a very sweet boy, but he will likely be scared and timid. He may or may not still be wearing an e-collar.
If you see Moose, PLEASE do not chase him. Contact us immediately at 608-213-8864 with any sightings or information.
Please share this post to help us spread the word and bring Moose home safely. ❤️🐾

Kitten season is in full bloom! Last week, we had 4 feral cats unexpectedly and suddenly give birth at our clinic. They had all come in to be spayed, and unfortunately they came to us too late. While we know kittens are cute, there are SO MANY cats in this world without homes. So many kittens being euthanized in shelters across our nation every day. Countless shelters and rescues begging for foster homes to deal with the influx of cats that need their help each spring/summer.
Thankfully our sister organization, Shelter From The Storm Animal Rescue was able to step in and find temporary placement for the 4 litters born, and the feral moms will be spayed and returned to their owners in about 2 months. Given they brought in over 40 cats last week from one single local hoarding case, these additional moms and kittens put a huge strain on their already limited resources.
Moral of the story, please please PLEASE spay and neuter your pets. Please TNR outdoor cats on your property. And if you're able, please consider donating to our Lifeline Veterinary Care Program to help us provide funds for those who need but are unable to afford spay/neuter procedures for their pets. We can all do our part to help!
