As part of UW–Madison Libraries Staff Appreciation Day, many of our locations will be closed or have reduced hours on Wednesday, May 13. This day of celebration gives our hardworking staff time to reconnect and recognize everything we’ve achieved throughout the year.

Day of the Badger is less than a week away! We're excited to share that UW-Madison Libraries has two challenges this year:

Debbie Horton has pledged a dollar-for-dollar match for the first $1,000 gifted to the Libraries Impact Fund. That means any gift you give has ‼ DOUBLE ‼ the impact.

Stu Baker has also pledged his support with a $5,000 donation to the Libraries Impact Fund once we hit 🎁 50 gifts.🎁

Undergraduates: If you plan to make creative, intensive use of library resources to complete a yearlong research project in the 2026-27 academic year, now's the time to apply for an Undergraduate Research Award!

The UW-Madison Libraries are offering an Undergraduate Research Award ($2,000) to support and celebrate excellence in undergraduate, library-based research. Research projects can include:

📒 A capstone
📖 Independent study
📄 A thesis
🎭 A performance
🖼️ An exhibit

The selected student will receive the award funds upon completion of the award requirements, which include structured library support and a final presentation to library staff. Note: This award is subject to taxes.
