A visual framework is like any template you may use in your work. It is a tool for capturing ideas and information...but visually.
A simple framework that we use to think about big picture business challenges and short-term needs is the Constellation Framework.
It is made up of 3 basic areas - WE HAVE, WE DO, and SO THAT.
This framework forces you to stay focused on the outcomes (SO THAT), the activities that you will do to reach those outcomes (WE DO), and the resources that you have or need to get there (WE HAVE).
Try it out for yourself!
And if you want to practice with this framework and other visual frameworks, join our next FREE visual thinking workshop on Thursday, Match 10th at 12 pm CT. Link in bio.

Too often we expect our teams to just know how to collaborate and adjust. But it takes intention, careful planning, and the right support to collaborate well.
Think about how projects are planned and communicated or how meetings are documented.
How does your team respond best?
Try shifting some of the write-ups or agendas to visuals and see how that changes the way your team collaborates.

Visual thinking organizations don't look like spaces where everyone is drawing all the time.
First of all, that would be chaos.
Second, people interact with and use visual thinking in different ways.
If you prefer to watch what is added to a whiteboard and process it on your own time, you are using visual thinking.
If you prefer to ask others to add their own ideas to a digital collaboration tool, you are also using visual thinking.
If you draw out notes for yourself, you probably guessed it, you are also using visual thinking.
Teams are made up of people with differing strengths and preferences. And visual thinking can look different for each member of your team.

A visual thinking practice goes beyond being able to draw. It becomes impactful when you have the frameworks to visualize any topic at a moments notice.
A framework can be a mind map, a storyboard, and more.
Our latest course, Unlocking Visual Thinking in your Work, dives into these frameworks and gives you access to Relumed's own Constellation Model for capturing conversations.

This quote is so much of visual thinking!
When a team comes together to visually work through complex ideas or explore new possibilities, the a-ha moments and 'yes, and' experiences are endless.
Try it with your team today. Draw out a new idea. Mark something with a simple icon. Create a mind map.
Who knows how your idea will grow.
