🥉2023 U.S. 50k National Championship
04/14/2026
6th place at the US 100K Championship.
This race also served as the world team trials. I missed an automatic spot on Team USA for the world championships this September in Spain, but I hit the world team time standard so I’m eligible to be selected… so now we wait 👀 Either way, 6th at nationals feels pretty good.

Nobody: …
Me: Hey do you want to hear how my 2025 season went? I’m slowly reducing the running volume and increasing the speed work and cross training as I get older. Raced a little less again this year but put all I had into each one.
Training:
Running - 3,156 miles (187,579’ vert)
Biking - 1,722 miles (42,631’ vert)
Strength - 47 hours
Elliptical - 12 hours
Swimming - 11 miles
Results:
Get Lucky 50K (OH) - 1st (PR in 3:14)
Huron 50 Mile (MI) - 1st (course record in 6:35)
Canyons 50K (CA) - 20th
Waterloo-Pinckney Trail FKT (36 miles)

Set the on the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail this weekend. A 36 mile trail connecting - you guessed it - the Waterloo and Pinckney State Parks.
I love this trail. Beautiful singletrack with a good mix of hills and terrain. met me every 10ish miles, which was much appreciated because it was a scorcher.

6 month check-in. So far this year I’ve had a decent race, a disappointing race, and a great race. I’m running a little less and cross training a lot more. I’m fitter than I’ve been in a long time and dreaming big for this Fall.
March: Get Lucky 50K (OH) - 1st, 3:14:37
April: Canyons 50K (CA) - 20th, 4:07:06
June: Huron 50 Mile (MI) - 1st, 6:35:03
Running: 1,703 miles (121,713’ vert)
Biking: 656 miles (14,081’ vert)
Swimming: 6.5 miles
Elliptical: 7.5hrs
Strength: 30hrs

Back to back wins at 50 mile. 6:35:03 for a new course record.
Sexy singletrack, punchy hills, deep water crossing, sandy horse trails, and immaculate vibes on my home trail.

Shoutout to for crushing it as the one-man pit crew.

No risk, no magic. Racing some of the best in the world at the Canyons 50K was not the day to play it safe so I went for it, but it just wasn’t one of those magical days. I went out aggressively and was in a position to make a push for top 10, but my legs locked up around mile 20 on the downhills and I faded. I held on for 20th place male and I’m still happy I took a shot and stuck my nose in it instead of running defensively. I was seeded 30th so we can still call it a success.
I’ve never raced a field like that and honestly don’t know if I’ll ever have the opportunity to again. Felt cool af just to be in the elite starting corral with those runners.

Feeling ready to take some risks at the Canyons 50k tomorrow. I’m not expected to be in the mix at a world class race like this… but I’m dreaming big and when the race gets spicy I’ll send it.
I decided to race the 50k instead of the 100k. I could give a list of technical reasons why this is the better decision right now, but really what it comes down to is that this sounds like the most fun. I’m here for the fun.

Racing unattached this year so the kit looks a little different 🐆

I save one day a week for just biking and most of my doubles lately have been cross training (cycling/swimming/elliptical… always with strength training and sauna).
I’ve only been running about 70 miles/week for the past few months (which is relatively low) and most of my volume has been in cross training and strength. It’s a bold move, let’s see if it pays off.

Race schedule for 2025 is locked in 🔒
is the peak race in the spring and everything after that will be focused on being ready to throw down at nationals () in the fall.
Sprinkling in a few other fun races too. is the only one still up in the air and depends on how well I recover from Canyons, but I’ll be there no matter what - whether I’m racing, crewing, or volunteering - because it’s my favorite local race.
