Happy first day of Autumn, everybody!

A huge thank you and congratulations goes out to Aeriona for reaching her 5 year anniversary at BBLC! Aeriona is a spectacular preschool teacher in our Water Lilies classroom. She often incorporates nature into her education, helping children feel more connected to the food we eat and the earth we live on.

When asked what her favorite Bee Balm memory was, she said "when I accepted the lead teacher position in the Arctic Willows classroom after working here for the a little over a year. I was so excited to start that new adventure and face challenges I’ve never had before. I was a tiny seed and now I’ve blossomed in to a mammoth sunflower."

Congratulations again Aeriona! Here's to another 5 years!

Photo of the Week! This weeks PotW is brought to you by our new "Exploration Lab"

Creativity is messy. It's supposed to be that way! Oftentimes children are turned down from creating what their heart desires because adults are worried about the mess it will make, the resources it will use, or a lack of a sufficient space. No longer! Introducing the Exploration Lab! Our shooting stars classroom got to test drive this new space yesterday and had an absolute BLAST mixing, pouring, painting, cutting, gluing, and building whatever their imagination led them to. Creativity shouldn't have constaints. With this new space, it doesn't.

Happy 5 year anniversary to Kelly! Kelly is a "Youngest Learners" teacher in our Cherry Blossom classroom. One and two year olds definitely come with their challenges, but Kelly is known to keep a positive attitude and a kind demeanor no matter the situation.

What's kept Kelly sticking around for all these years? She says "My absolute favorite thing about our center is the people. The kiddos, the families, my coworkers - they make Bee Balm truly magical."

An exciting start to a brand new school year!

Congratulations to BBLC's former Shooting Stars Classroom! These scholars graduated this past Friday and we couldn't be more proud! The Stars paraded onto our foothills playground weilding handmade flags and donning graduation robes and caps. Each child recieved a personalized award and a copy of "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" while surrounded by loved ones. While we're sad to see them go and will miss them deeply, we are even more excited for what is to come and to see what they do next. Wishing you all the best in kindergarten, Stars🎓

One of our preschool teachers, Ms. Katy, is celebrating her 5 year aniversary working for BBLC!

When asked what her favorite part about working here is, she said "I appreciate the autonomy within the classroom to really integrate your personal interests into the curriculum to guide and enhance each child's experience. Being able to integrate as much nature-based learning into each day is absolutely the best aspect of being a teacher at Bee Balm Learning Center"

Her love of children and nature feel right at home here at Bee Balm!

This week's PotW is brought to you from our Pre-Kindergarten Classroom, the "Shooting Stars". These children are making art with materials they collected at Kettle Pond, a local conservation park they often take fieldtrips too. As their graduation fast approaches, these children were given an opportunity to make art that will help them say goodbye to one of their favorite places and hold onto the memories made within.

It's safe to say that their recent trip to Henry Vilas Zoo sparked an interest in animals and their care. By tactically introducing these materials into the classroom, their teachers, Maise and Katy, prepared them and got them excited for their trip and also gave them tools to explore their curiosities after their experence was over.

Don't worry! The lion was sedated for this checkup 😂
