My friends in the music community,
We have suffered a heart wrenching loss with the recent and unexpected passing of Alex Pollema, a guitar player who so many of us picked with over the last few years. We watched how much he improved and how positive he always remained.
Many folks have asked if there will be a service or if there’s something we can do with the family to remember, celebrate and honor Alex.
Alex leaves behind his wife, Andrea, and their three young children. For now, his family is grieving this terrible loss and finding a new path without Alex. The family has spoken about possibly having an event for Alex in the future, but not immediately. We will wait and be available when they are ready.
If you want to support Alex’s family during this unimaginably difficult time, a Go Fund Me page has been created.
To honor him with music, we have been doing a song or three at each of the jams with someone saying, “this is one Alex did”.
That is our tribute for now. If we’d like to do more to grieve, remember and honor Alex, let's discuss it. The family would be invited to any event, but it would be for the music community.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks to this community for your deep love and respect.
Love
Bobby Batyko
