In May I had a work training for . We were asked to bring in “inspirational quotes”, but that’s never been my thing so I brought in a Beanie Baby scorpion because “it’s tough but upholds its boundaries”.

For our final project I made this lil design illustrating the four “tasks” of Intentional Peer Support and labeled them on the scorpion. Keep in mind I know nothing about scorpions, but here’s my rationale:

- “Connection” is pincers because he uses his pincers to “connect” with the world
- “Worldview” is the head, where the brain is located
- “Mutuality” is the fangs (?), because fangs work together to chomp
- “Moving towards” is the legs, since legs move the body

I ALSO have created this bin of “emotional support animals” for peer support clients to keep or borrow. I accept donations of small plushies/finger puppets/whatever to pass on to clients and coworkers 😉 we have had so much fun enjoying them together!

Mickeys Tavern is having a benefit this Sunday for the W***y Street Impacted Workers Relief Fund as well as to supplement lost wages for Mickey’s & Crystal Corner Bar employees. Aaron Womack will be playing and I made two donations to the auction/raffle: an embroidery hoop made with vintage materials and a set of three bracelets made with secondhand beads 🌼

Finally finished this 17.5”x17.5” mini quilt! Made with 100% secondhand materials and 100% hand stitched. I just like to sew things together.
