The mission of More Smiles Wisconsin is to ensure access to quality dental care to the underserved i Our job has only just begun. Wisconsin needs more smiles.

Since we opened our doors in 2009, Madison Dental Initiative has always been more than just a dental clinic. Our staff and volunteers reduce pain for veterans; prevent children from missing school; restore confidence to unemployed folks; remove worry from struggling families; and provide hope to the homeless. In short, we don’t just provide dental care; we work to change lives. Whether it’s lack o

We are super proud of our Youth Apprentice, Tori. All of us at MSW hope she is enjoying her dental hygiene education journey thus far and we so glad that we got to provide the apprenticeship opportunity for her. She is going to be a great provider!

Are you Ready for an Update?! Two of our Class of 2024 Youth Apprenticeship Health Science students started their fall semester this year with big smiles! Gabrielle (Gabby) McFadden and Victoria (Tori) Raemisch are at the University of Minnesota in their Dental Hygiene School! Both Gabby and Tori were dental assistant apprentices prior to high school graduation, Gabby working with the wonderful staff at Monroe Street Family Dental, and Tori working with the wonderful staff at More Smiles, Wisconsin. We are so proud of our Waunakee Alumni!

MSW is always happy to collaborate with other nonprofits to make sure the oral health needs of our low-income Madison residents are met. Pictured below is MSW's Chelsey and Ashley from Phsycological Addiction Services who came to pick up 40 oral health kits to be distributed to their clients.

Big news! MSW now offers behavioral health!

Similar to the dental program that built MSW over 15 years ago, our behavioral health program will serve individuals who are 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or below and who are uninsured. Our goal is to help even more individuals access much needed care. While the program is starting out small, we have big dreams of making a big impact on those affected by mental health conditions.

To learn more, or if you want to become a therapy client, call us at 608-665-2752 and ask for a New Client Screener. Program information will become available on our website in the upcoming months, stay tuned!

We recently had the opportunity to be a part of JustDane's Reentry Service Fair and partnered with Bayview Foundation to provide dental resources and pass out oral health supplies to attendees. MSW promotes both the importance of accessing dental care and having the necessary supplies to care for one's oral health outside of the dental chair. We’re thrilled to welcome Manoucha Georges—known to many as Manou—to the More Smiles team as an AmeriCorps VISTA member! Originally from Orlando, Florida, Manou is currently pursuing her graduate studies at Oklahoma State University.

Manou will be supporting community health initiatives which includes outreach and program expansion. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and shopping for unique finds.

We extend a thank you the the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics for coordinating this placement and are happy to serve as her host site for Manou for the next year. We hope to create an enriching experience for her during her time in Wisconsin!
