I have spoken about the importance of bipartisanship before, and my legislative record reflects that. This session, I cast the highest number of bipartisan votes in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

When you elected me to serve you in the Legislature, you asked me to deliver for our communities. That is why I voted for legislation that would keep more money in your pockets, fund our schools, and deliver critical medical assistance to those who need it most. I vote based on what our district needs, not based on the party line.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Our mental health is just as important to our well-being as our physical health, but it can sometimes be overlooked. Today is Syttende Mai, or Norway’s Constitution Day! Celebrations are bright and lively, and Norwegians across the globe gather to honor their heritage.

On Armed Forces Day, we recognize the bravery and sacrifice of those in the different branches of our military.

This week is National Hospital Week! This week we recognize the dedication of our hospitals and all the folks working to keep our communities healthy.

Last week, I had the privilege of getting to see behind the scenes of SSM Health Monroe Hospital with Chelsea, the hospital President, and Michelle, Director of Acute Care and Emergency Services. Learning about the inner workings of our hospital brings an even deeper understanding of everybody who keeps a hospital running smoothly, from the person who helps you check-in, to the person who cleans the rooms for the next patient. I truly admire the folks in our healthcare system who work hard every day to look after our community.

May 15th is Peace Officers Memorial Day. Today, we honor the brave members of our law enforcement who have fallen in the line of duty, as well as those who are serving our communities now.

This month, we celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month. We honor the many contributions of Jewish Americans past and present, and recognize their rich history. I appreciate the work of the Legislative Jewish Caucus to highlight and advocate for Jewish Wisconsinites around the state.

May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month! This month celebrates an incredibly diverse group of people with a rich culture, and we honor their contributions across the world.
