A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT THROUGH 9 AM TOMORROW MORNING. VISIBILITIES AS LOW AS 1/4 MILE COULD BE SEEN FOR DANE, GREEN ROCK AND WALWORTH COUNTIES. OTHER COUNTIES OUTSIDE OF THE ADVISORY AREA COULD ALSO SEE REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

The first winter storm of 2023 is in the making and heading our way. Northwest Wisconsin already has winter alerts posted. Just to our west, northwestern Iowa and southern Minnesota have posted Ice Storm Warnings for the potential of up to 1/2" of ice accumulation.
We will watching the track of the storm carefully because any shift north or south will change the type of precipitation we could see beginning on Monday night.

Happy News Years Eve everyone!! Well, the snow is already coming down for most areas around Madison as well as counties north, west and south. Near the southern border it is looking more of a wintry mix.
Tonight be especially careful on the roads as these flurries and/or mixed bands of precip could hang around till early morning.
Sunday morning you'll need to still be careful as we're expecting fog till late morning, then a mostly cloudy day ahead.
