Happy Mother’s Day to all the Momma’s out there! I never knew how hard yet rewarding motherhood was until I became a Mommy. Mom’s make the world go round and I am so thankful for all the Moms in my life that have gone before me as well as those who I am knee deep and arm in arm with in this thing called life. Hope you all have a great day!

“Love what you do!” This phrase is the center piece to and it really rings true to me. Out of all the photos and video I took today of furniture and colleagues, this is the one that really speaks to where I am in life right now. For years I did lots of other things, other jobs, but I didn’t LOVE them. Of course I did them well, because I’m a winner😉, and even thought maybe I should take my life in those directions… I’m glad I held on to my dream of being an interior designer and had the support of my family to not give up on it. I truly LOVE what I do. It feeds an internal craving I have for creating as well as helping people. Just wanted to put this out there to anyone who is in the grind and thinking they will never do something they LOVE. Don’t compromise. Just keep swimming.

“The Professional Difference Between "Interior Designer" and "Interior Decorator"

Many people use the terms "interior design" and "interior decorating" interchangeably, but these professions differ in critical ways.

Interior design is the art and science of understanding people's behavior to create functional spaces within a building. Decoration is the furnishing or adorning of a space with fashionable or beautiful things. In short, interior designers may decorate, but decorators do not design.

Interior designers apply creative and technical solutions within a structure that are functional, attractive and beneficial to the occupants' quality of life and culture. Designs respond to and coordinate with the building shell and acknowledge the physical location and social context of the project. Designs must adhere to code and regulatory requirements and encourage the principles of environmental sustainability.​

The interior design process follows a systematic and coordinated methodology -- including research, analysis and integration of knowledge into the creative process — to satisfy the client’s needs and resources.

U.S. states and Canadian provinces have passed laws requiring interior designers to be licensed or registered and to document their formal education and training. Many states and provinces also specifically require all practicing interior designers to earn the NCIDQ Certification to demonstrate their experience and qualifications. By contrast, interior decorators require no formal training or licensure. “ -

We are pleased to share that Interior Designer, Clarissa Rigby, has completed the requirements of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and is now a NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer. NCIDQ Certification is the industry's globally recognized indicator of a highly qualified interior designer who is proficient in interior design principles and a designer's commitment to the profession and their community.
Clarissa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from California State University, Fresno in 2010. She has provided interior design services to the Central Valley and beyond for the past 8+ years. Congratulations, Clarissa, on this incredible achievement!
