Need old-school skills? There's probably an analog resource (a book) at your local library.πŸ€“

What other skills are humans losing not listed here?

All of the Newhartbery family of library facilities are welcoming the advent of summer and the return of the annual Summer Reading Program!😁

It's the first of June and it's the first day of our annual Summer Reading Program at Hart County Library. This year's theme is "Unearth a Story" and, unsurprisingly, dinosaurs are featured heavily.πŸ¦– SRP runs through June and July -- you don't have to sign up today, but if you can come by, you'll be welcome.😁 (We'll be posting the schedule of events shortly...)

Useful information for the five or six people (or even less) that ever look at this page... 😁

Hey... we have stuff, too! (We guarantee that we have ALL the resources that could be expected of a fictional library system, and then some!πŸ€“)

NOTE: Certainly that's something we all aspire to do, whenever we can.πŸ€“

We'll be adding at least some of these titles to our collections (we have several already).πŸ€“

For curious readers, nonfiction literature has the power to challenge and change how we see the world.

Our Nonfiction booklist for underscores the importance of access to information and offers compelling insight into the role of libraries in our lives.

NOTE: It's the start of National Library Week, too!

The freedom to read is still being challenged: From January 2025 through March 2026, more than 100 pro-censorship bills were introduced in state legislatures. At least 40 bills would penalize libraries and library workers with lawsuits, fines, or even jail time for protecting people’s the right to read.

While the challenges we face are real, so is the growing network of individuals and organizations who continue to win victories, share strategies, and build momentum to protect the right to read everywhere. Because of your hard work, we’ve seen meaningful progress in courts, in legislatures, and in local communities.

This Right To Read Day, we celebrate our wins and take action to protect the freedom to read. Take action today: https://bit.ly/43D9Dtw

And now we have a proposal for a law to Federalize book censorship, and, I would guess, become a workaround for eliminating funding to the Institute for Museum and Library Services. Introduced by Mary E. Miller of Illinois - who also recently signed onto a piece of legislation from that paragon of morality, Randy Fine of Florida, called (I'm not kidding) the "Protecting Puppies from Sharia Act".
