Bragg Jam Then & Now Stroll
We are heartbroken to share the passing of John Harrison, a friend, supporter, visionary, and an irreplaceable part of the Bragg Jam story.
While many know Johnny as a beloved member of The Buckleys, his impact on Bragg Jam runs just as deep. In 2003, Johnny helped lead the effort to transform Bragg Jam from a friendly annual jam session into a nonprofit organization and the citywide Concert Crawl experience that thousands enjoy today. His vision helped lay the foundation for what Bragg Jam has become and what it continues to be.
For more than two decades, Johnny remained one of Bragg Jamâs biggest champions. He believed in the power of live music to bring people together, strengthen community, and keep Maconâs creative spirit alive. He showed up, cheered artists on, shared stories, and reminded all of us why this work matters.
Even in his final days, Johnnyâs love for Bragg Jam never faded. He joked that Bragg Jam owed him gas money because he had spent so much time driving around listening to the first episode of Bragg Jam Radio Hour. Thatâs who Johnny was, always listening, always supporting, always encouraging.
His fingerprints are all over this organization and this music community. The legacy he helped build will continue to echo through every stage, every venue, every song, and every musician who finds a place at Bragg Jam. We are sharing a clip of John performing with The Buckleys at our 2020 Concert Crawl so you can see him doing what he loved most.
Thank you, Johnny, for believing in Bragg Jam, for believing in Macon, and for helping keep the love of music alive. Your spirit will forever be part of this city, and your memory will forever be part of Bragg Jam.

Say hello to Girl Tones, the sister duo bringing fuzzy garage rock, dreamy melodies, and a whole lot of attitude to the 2026 Bragg Jam Concert Crawl. đžâš
Originally from Kentucky, Girl Tones blend gritty alt-rock energy with catchy hooks and a vintage-cool aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Their live shows are loud, magnetic, and packed with the kind of raw chemistry only siblings can create.
In a couple weeks they'll be hitting the stage at Bonaroo... In less than a couple months they'll be on the JBA stage in Downtown Macon, Georgia!

Macon runs on soul and funk, and Kaleta & Super Yamba Band speak that language fluently.
This Brooklyn Afro-funk outfit is led by frontman Kaleta, who was born in Benin Republic, the birthplace of Afrobeat, and spent decades performing with Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and Lauryn Hill before bringing that sound to New York. Trust us, Macon. This one is for you.
