The 18z hurricane models (HWRF, HMON, HAFS-A, and HAFS-B) show a storm making landfall sometime Thursday between Cedar Key and Walton Co. That means we could see anything from nothing to significant impacts at this point.

Here are the last 4 runs of the GFS… 0z last night near Cedar Key, 6z near Destin, 12z near Indian Pass, and 18z near Apalach. The GFS is by far the most ominous as far as intensity. Let’s watch that east trend and see if it continues tonight/tomorrow.

Strong, damaging wind gusts will be the primary risk with thunderstorms through this evening, though hail up to the size of quarters will also be possible.

📢 Don't forget, ! The Green Street Gate will be closed tomorrow, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for scheduled maintenance.
Maintenance is normally performed on the first Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In case of inclement weather or holidays, work is planned to occur on the first Wednesday of the month or as weather permits.
Gate Closure Schedule:
