Travel back to the 1950s with Week 3 of our Mable Mixtape summer series as campers explore the exciting worlds of Surf Rock and early Rock & Roll 🎶

In the morning, campers will catch a creative wave while exploring mid century modern art styles, retro pop culture icons, and the colorful energy of the jukebox era through painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects.

In the afternoon, it’s time to shake, rattle, and roll! Campers will dive into the high energy world of early Rock & Roll, inspired by neon lit soda shops, vintage records, and the bold style that defined a generation.

Please note this is a four day camp. Mable House Arts Center will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Ready to start your sewing journey? 🧵

Join Instructor Sylvia Arnold for a fun and comprehensive two day workshop designed for beginners. Learn the basics of sewing in a welcoming, hands on environment while building confidence with your machine and essential sewing skills.

Week 2 sessions will be held on August 18 and 20. Classes for ages 8 to 10 will take place from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, and classes for ages 11 to 16 will be held from 5 PM to 6 PM.

Participants should have prior ceramics experience from clay classes at Mable House Arts Center. Finished pieces should be approximately 5 to 6 inches wide and up to 8 inches tall.

Proper studio attire is required including long sleeves, long pants, and closed toe shoes. Denim or cotton clothing is recommended. Please note that Raku fired pottery is decorative and not food safe.
