REDCOATS - All rehearsals are closed at this time. Parents please drop of your child at the beginning of rehearsal and pick them up at the end”

Dear Redcoat Family,

As we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, we are faced with the huge task of providing the safest environment for students of TCHS/TCMS, while at the same time meeting our educational goals.

The Redcoat band is planning to carry on with the marching season albeit with limitations and precautions. We are following guidance from the Georgia Music Educators Association. They issued “Return To Marching” guidelines for bands to follow during this pandemic. Everyone’s safety is our top priority. As the situation with the pandemic changes, so will the precautions. It is a fluid situation.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. More information will be given as we receive it, but for now this is the tentative plan:

- Summer rehearsals will resume on 7/20/20
- Sectionals will be for a shorter amount of time.
- Students should plan to leave campus immediately following the end of the activity
- Activities will take place outside
- Students will have a health screening before rehearsal
- Social distancing of 10 feet will be maintained at all times
- Masks are encouraged to wear inside if a student needs to enter the building
- No one will be permitted to use the instrument storage room, students should bring their instrument home after rehearsal
- Each student should have their own personal water bottle.
- Restrooms will be limited.
- Color guard and percussion members may not share equipment
- Woodwind and brass students will be divided into 3 groups based off grade level to maintain small group setting when rehearsing.

Brass and Woodwinds
Group A: 11th-12th Grade
Group B: 9th-10th Grade
Group C: 8th Grade

Drumline/percussion/AUX includes all grade levels

Camp will be held on the Redcoat field, next to the TCHS band room.

Guidelines will follow Toombs County Schools protocol.
