You want to get involved in this year's municipal elections, you want candidates to know your voice matters, and your vote (or future vote) does too. Then Prevent The Cycle is calling on you to apply for our fellowship!
This program will run from June to August and is a 3-month commitment to developing and participating in voter engagement programming.
Youth will receive a $300 stipend for their participation.
Eligibility:
Lynn resident (16 to 24 years old)
5- 10 hrs per week

Join us this Thursday as we explore the African American experience in the US and in Lynn through the lived experiences of local community members.
These sessions are our way of inspiring conversations on the many layers of the Afro-Diaspora. We will dive into how we see each other and ourselves and what it looks like to move forward, together.

She added, “These types of killings and this type of force will not be interrupted unless we have courageous elected officials come forward and challenge not just the police, but also the policies.”
National data has shown that roughly 10% of killings by police each year start with a traffic encounter, and that one in three people killed were fleeing before lethal force was used. Last year was the deadliest year for police violence since experts started tracking killings nationwide in 2013, according to a recent analysis. The LAPD has also fatally shot two people so far this year, and in 2020 killed Daniel Hernandez after he was in a car accident.
