Reasonable Faith Whatcom County Chapter
Thank you for visiting the Reasonable Faith booth at the county fair this August. I and the other volunteers enjoyed meeting and talking with you, sharing your interest in the truths of Christianity.
We want to let you know about the monthly meetings in Biblical studies and apologetics starting September 7, at 10 am in the Youth with a Mission headquarters in the Windmill building, YWAM location: 655 Front St, Lynden, WA 98264 (enter by the side door on 7th street.)
Our topics this first meeting include The Biblical Basis for Defending the Faith as well as a review of the 2024 Reasonable Faith booth experiences. We love questions and enjoy talking about any concerns or thoughts you might have. So, bring them with you!
We are part of a ministry begun by William Lane Craig which is dedicated to providing a Biblically based, logically coherent, and gracious Christian perspective on the most important issues concerning the truth of the Christian faith today, such as:
• the existence of God
• the meaning of life
• the objectivity of truth
• the foundation of moral values
• the creation of the universe
• intelligent design
• the reliability of the Scriptures
• the uniqueness of Jesus
• the historicity of the resurrection
• the challenge of religious pluralism
1 Peter 3:15 is the touchstone of Reasonable Faith: “But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect.” The Bible encourages examining evidence and thinking about one's beliefs (Proverbs 14:15, Acts 17:11) and Biblical figures like Paul and James used reasoning and arguments to explain and defend their faith (Acts 17:2-3).
A reasonable faith involves using both faith and reason together, not pitting them against each other. Arguments and evidence can support faith, but ultimately, the basis of our faith is trust in God, who is worthy of our trust!
Your visit to the Reasonable Faith booth encouraged us in this ministry, and we would enjoy meeting you again on September 7. For more information, you are welcome to call or email me.

The Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden, WA is over. From Aug 11-20 I was privileged to work with Dennis Zetting, John Hooper, David Vis, Rob Schripsema, Duane VanderGriend, and Pam Williams at the fair in the Reasonable Faith booth.
We talked to well over 500 people who took free books on apologetics, science and faith, Momma Bear apologetics and the Jesus film.
People voted on the Question of the Day; Does God Exist? Is there Objective Truth? Evolution and Creationism? And then we asked them why they voted the way they did.
Conversations were from 30 seconds to over an hour.
Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for His Spirit and His working in the lives of our selves, and everyone we talked to.
Thanks to NCCTK for sponsoring a portion of the booth.
Thanks to people who donated money for the booth and the books.
Many people said Apologetics is needed in Whatcom county. We hope to provide resources so that we can all work toward the extending of God's Kingdom in the coming year.

Great Friday at the Lynden Fair. Amazing discussions with both Christians and those questioning whether Christianity might be true or even plausible. Thanks to Dennis Zetting again for his perspective and interaction with people from the scientific viewpoint. Dan Levine came by from KIRI radio. Many thanks to him for his great support on advertising us.
Thanks Rob Schripsema for relieving me for the evening. Such a help.

Many thanks to Bill William Bryant and my wife Pam for helping out yesterday. I had to leave the booth during the hottest part of the day due to back pain and the heat. Sorry all.
