🎉🐾 It’s Veterinary Appreciation Week! 🐾🎉

This week, we’re celebrating the veterinarians whose dedication, expertise, and compassion make a difference in the lives of pets and their families every day. With seven incredible doctors on our team, we’ve been highlighting one veterinarian each day throughout the week.

💙 Last but certainly not least, we’re proud to recognize Dr. Miller!

A Tampa native, Dr. Miller earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Auburn University (War Eagle! 🦅) and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2019.

Her passion for caring for animals began at a young age and led her through years of volunteering, working as a veterinary technician, and ultimately achieving her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Miller’s goal with every patient visit is to provide the highest quality care while considering each family’s goals, wishes, and finances. She approaches every case with one simple question: “If this were my pet, what would I do?”

When she’s not at the hospital, Dr. Miller enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, watching sports, spending time with family and friends, playing games, exploring the outdoors, and relaxing with a good book or TV show.

Her family includes her husband, Brandon, their Puerto Rican rescue pup, Pepito, and their two cats, Gatsby and Walter. To Dr. Miller, her pets are much more than pets, they’re family.

✨ Fun Fact: Dr. Miller grew up in Tampa, and her very first veterinary shadowing experience was at Temple Terrace Animal Hospital while she was still in middle school!

Hot pavement can cause painful burns to your pet’s paw pads before you even realize it! ☀️

Kayleigh is sharing a few simple ways to help protect your furry friend’s feet this summer:

🐾 Use the back of your hand to test the pavement temperature. If it’s too hot for your hand to comfortably stay on for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws.

🐾 Consider pet boots for walks on hot surfaces.

🐾 Paw protection stickers or paw pad covers can provide an extra layer of protection when temperatures rise.

A little prevention can go a long way in keeping your pet comfortable and safe during the warmer months. If you have questions about protecting your pet from the heat, we’re happy to help!
