HopeWell Cancer Support
HopeWell is a community of people at every stage of cancer and those who love them.
Since 1993, our work at HopeWell Cancer Support has been based on the premise that people affected by cancer need more than just medical care. HopeWell’s programs are specifically designed to complement the medical system by helping people with cancer, and their loved ones, cope with the life-changing impact of a cancer diagnosis. We Have a Summer Project for Kids 6-12!
We have a summer project for the kids in your life. Whether they are your children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews, or whatever the relationship, please let them know we want their help.
HopeWell wants to get a custom-designed Holiday Card, and we would like it to be created by a child who is 6-12. We want something that represents all the holidays in December: Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza, but not just one specific holiday. Maybe a winter scene, a snowman, children sledding, etc. We will accept designs from the first 6 children who reply by e-mail to Terry Weigel (see e-mail address below), but ONLY ONE DESIGN WILL BE CHOSEN by the HopeWell administrative staff. See photos below for the winning designs for the past 3 years.
The children can use colored pencils, crayons, markers, paint, or a combination of those. Please ask them to submit their artwork on a plain piece of 8.5x11” paper. The deadline for submissions is August 31st. They can be dropped off at 10628 Falls Road, Lutherville, or mailed to HopeWell, P.O. Box 755, Brooklandville, MD 21022. Please do not fold the artwork. All six children who submit a Holiday Card design will receive a $10 Target gift card.
If you have any questions, please contact Terry Weigel via email [email protected], or via call 410-832-2719 x104.
Thank you!

Circle of Strength: Men & Cancer Care - Living with Cancer
Thursday, June 18th, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
A dedicated space for men to discuss the specific impacts of a diagnosis on their lives, careers, and identities.
Andrew Giordano, one of our Mind, Body Spirit instructors will share an interactive demonstration of "Tai Chi".
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that has evolved into a popular form of "meditation in motion". It combines slow, gentle, flowing movements with deep, controlled breathing and mental focus to improve balance, strength, and overall mind-body well-being.
Zoom link available if you are unable to join us in person.
