The Red Raiders are expected to have a potent offence and an increased focus on the defensive front with new Head Coach Joey McGuire. Expectations are high and the tailgating will be everyone’s favorite social event. Friday Night Lights are in full swing and everything just seems more normal again … am I right?

LEDA CEO on Lubbock's business growth: A few 'significant' deals will be announced soon
“Most of the time that we get interest from companies that are thinking about coming to Texas, they look at our workforce and our universities that are here, and then they look as it relates to the supply of specific kinds of products and ways they run their business," Osborne said. "It kind of varies, but we definitely have a good effort moving forward to appeal to them.”
Osborne said there are different entities that assist in the process of speaking to potential business suitors, depending on the type of company and what their issues and questions are regarding a potential development.

My son, Maverick, will be participating in his first ever Flag Football Camp followed by his first season. I mean, it’s Texas right, my boy MUST play football! All jokes aside, he is very excited to see what this is all about. Growing up in Kentucky, basketball has always been king. Personally, I’ve always been a huge football fan! From high school Friday nights to College Game Day on Saturday mornings … Monday through Friday was just something we went through until all the great games kicked off!

Nothing has changed the dynamic of collegiate sports more than when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the NCAA could not limit education-related benefits to athletes in June of 2021. For local marketing entrepreneur and die-hard Texas Tech fan, Kirk Noles, he saw the change of the names, images and likenesses (NIL) rule as not just an opportunity, but as a means to keep Red Raiders athletics relevant.
Noles told Lubbock Magazine he established Level 13 Agency as a means to help student athletes understand how the rule works in terms of marketing, fundraising and talent management.

Make some furry friends at Prairie Dog Town
Imagine loving an animal so much that you create a town dedicated to them (and eventually become dubbed mayor of that town). That’s exactly what Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy Clapp did in the 1930s: they found prairie dogs to be so entertaining that they started a protected prairie dog colony.
“Of all nature’s wild creatures, none is more appealing and entertaining to watch than the prairie dog,” wrote Frank Oliver in his 1973 history of Prairie Dog Town. “The little mammal is a born comic and ham, and where he might be seen at close range he keeps his audience squealing with delight and affection. One might suspect the prairie dog of purposely planning his habitat to be a stage on which to perform.”

Plan a whole day for the Museum of Texas Tech University
Calling all knowledge-hungry visitors: Texas Tech’s renowned museum features nearly 9 million pieces across all its collections of history, paleontology, fine arts, clothing and textiles, natural sciences and anthropology. In one hall you’ll view ancient South American paintings, and in the next you might find yourself studying birds and invertebrates.
The museum’s upcoming traveling exhibit is A History of Walls: The Borders We Build, a look into the significance of iconic barriers from the Berlin Wall to the Great Wall of China to the US-Mexico border wall.
