🏆 Welcome Wednesday: Staff Spotlight 🏆⭐️ We are excited to welcome back a former student teacher, Ms. Jenkins to Smith. She will be joining our fourth grade team as a Math and Science teacher!

"I’m so excited to be joining the team as a 4th grade math teacher! I recently graduated from Texas Tech through the TechTeach program, where I spent a year student teaching at Smith and quickly fell in love with the school, the students, and the amazing community. I grew up in Dumas, Texas, and I’m so grateful to continue my journey in education here in Lubbock. I have a heart for helping students grow in their confidence, especially in math. I can’t wait to create a fun, positive classroom where all students feel supported and successful. I’m looking forward to a great year!"

In 2018, the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) established the TEPSA Student Leadership Award to honor outstanding student leadership teams and their positive impact on our school communities across Texas. This past week at the annual TEPSA conference, Preston Smith was recognized for meeting these high standards and making a difference! Way to go Ms. Harrison and Student Leadership.
