FOUND family,

You may have seen our FOUNDer’s video message from Sunday, ‘Green lights and Growing pains.’ In it, she explained the growing needs of FOUND and the need to close the gap from where FOUND is financially right now to where it needs to be.

I will be honest, friends. Many of us who volunteer have seen firsthand how much FOUND has grown over the last year. But with that growth are a huge needs. Some of us sitting at the table had no idea how great the needs are. And that could mean that you have no idea.

Our FOUNDer, Shea, is someone who loves generosity. She loves sharing the heart and stories of FOUND. But the side where we ask you, the community, to show up financially? That side of nonprofit is more difficult for those that have a heart to GIVE and not take.

Here is the truth:
FOUND needs you.
The kids need you.
The educators and administrators need you.

So you might see more asking and direct needs being posted on this page. We will be offering small and big ways to get involved with your time, donations, and financial giving. We believe that the work of FOUND is only getting started and God has so much more on the horizon.

Ten years ago, a simple idea took root.

What if it were easier for ordinary people to make a difference?
What if a bag of clothes sitting in a closet could become dignity for a child?
What if people who wanted to do something meaningful simply needed a place to start?

Over the years, thousands of people have stepped into that story.

They've cleaned out closets.
They've sorted donations.
They've volunteered after work.
They've packed snack bags.
They've invited friends.
They've shared posts.
They've prayed.
They've given generously.

And because they showed up, children throughout our community have received clothing, shoes, school supplies, snacks and encouragement when they needed it most. At school.

But something else has happened along the way.
A community has formed.

People who believe their excess can become someone else's blessing.

People who believe generosity should be practical.

People who believe faith should move beyond words and into action.

People who simply want their lives to make a difference.

Every donation building, every sorting event, every volunteer shift, every partnership is proof that this community is growing.

The need is great.
But so is the willingness of people to step forward and help.
And that's what gives us hope.
We're grateful for every person who has chosen to be part of this story.

We’re just getting started.
And we’ll always believe the best is yet to come.

Our sweet Carolyn spent time organizing uniform donations at the HUB on Wednesday. We love uniforms this time of year while we gear up for the influx of requests we are going to receive in August!

A Divine Appointment — FOUND. Last Friday morning, I felt prompted to send a thank-you note. One of our monthly business partners, Pick Up Pals, has been faithfully supporting FOUND for months now.  So I gathered our most recent newsletters, wrote a handwritten note, tucked everything into a brown envelope, and set it

Grateful for another Wednesday morning at the warehouse. The volunteers showed up this morning to sort through and organize countless donation bags to help us get ready for August. The racks fill quickly but empty just as quickly when school starts and needs of the kids become evident.

Last year, educators started lining up before the doors even opened.

Teachers, counselors, principals, social workers, paraprofessionals, and others who serve students came to shop donated clothing, shoes, accessories, and essentials - all completely free of charge.

The joy, gratitude, and excitement in that warehouse was something we’ll never forget.

This year, we’re expecting our Second Annual Treat An Educator event to be bigger and better than ever.

On August 1, we’ll once again open our doors to the educators who spend countless hours investing in the lives of students throughout our community. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and sponsors, they’ll have the opportunity to shop quality donated items and head into the new school year feeling encouraged, equipped, and appreciated.

Now we’re inviting our community to help make it happen.

We’re currently seeking event sponsors, donation partners, volunteers, and businesses who want to stand behind the educators who stand behind our students every day.

One of our favorite moments every week is watching an educator realize they can simply fill their cart and take what they need. No cost. No catch. Just a community coming together to say:

“We see you. We appreciate you. We’re cheering you on.”
