đ˘ Attention Installers ⢠OEM Engineers ⢠Safety Advocates đ˘
An RV ownerâs recent Facebook post incorrectly blamed Blue Ox for a towbar failure. As the founder of Connected Correctlyâand a flat-towing/âdinghyâ conversion technician since 1988âI reviewed the evidence (below) and confirmed this was not an authentic Avail, but a generic Chinese copy sold online (Amazon).
â ď¸ Key lessons:
1.) Brand integrity matters: Blue Ox invests in materials science, fatigue testing & corrosion resistance; copycats cut corners.
2.) Installer vigilance is critical (especially if your customers secure their own products): Always verify logos, model/serial number tags, & other details before you perform the installation. Have a conversation with the customer before installing, if needed.
3.) Feedback to the manufacturer saves lives: We partner with OEMs (including Blue Ox) to help with new product designs and to address any concerns from an installerâs perspective, pre-production/release to market.
đ Connected Correctly offers:
1.) Comprehensive installer education covering genuine Blue Ox, Roadmaster, Demco, & Curt baseplate/towbar systems focusing on attention-to-detail and high quality workmanship.
2.) Product research & development consulting: Looking for an experienced and trusted perspective from an outside source that isnât too close to your project? We have NDAs signed with and are trusted by multiple companies and would love to help be a part of the process in making your product as safe, successful, and profitable as possible!
3.) Custom tailored Zoom calls covering a wide array of topics to help your technicians and sales staff learn valuable techniques and methods in selecting the right equipment for your customerâs needs, getting the estimate/quote turned into a SALE, the all-important aspect of PROPER product installation, and also establishing your business as a reputable and professional company by knowing HOW to properly instruct your customers to use their products correctly and safely.

How NOT to install a powered trailer wiring converter This video was made in partnership with ââ and showcases the problems that can occur when allowing shops with poorly trained employees to...
We have a customer looking to purchase a Jeep Wrangler that we have already converted to be pulled behind an RV. So we are looking for a Jeep with the baseplate and wiring already installed. We know we had two Jeep customer's that had their jeep up for sale and have since forgotten who you were. Chime in if that's you! Just trying to help a customer out and make some connections like we ALWAYS do! đ

What a busy end to August! We werenât able to answer the phone much last week because we were out for most of it while we attended the NATDA trailer show and conference in Nashville, TN. âŚBut we did FAR more than just attend!
Our friends at B&W Trailer Hitches sponsored two separate classes that were instructed our own Chris Long! Chris taught a 4-hour âTowing Systems Specialist (Mechanical)â course on Tuesday afternoon and a different 4-hour âTowing Sytems Specialist (Electrical)â course on Wednesday morning. These technicians that took the courses were very engaged and eager to learn from Chrisâ extensive experiential and technical knowledge of the industry. The students in the Wednesday morning class didnât even want to stop for breaks!!
Then, instead of âmanning the boothâ this year, Chris engaged with multiple manufacturers of his favorite brands of equipment and had several productive conversations with industry leaders. The fruit from these conversations will undoubtedly help lead to the creation of better products, help make existing products better, and help manufacturers communicate with their product installers in ways that will increase installation quality, efficiency, and safety. This was probably the most productive NATDA show weâve participated in yet! There will be even more of Chrisâ positive influence show up in the industry in the year to come!
Chris has been slowly assembling a collection of his favorite brands that he loves to recommend to his students and, most importantly, to YOU, our Northwest Arkansas customer base!
Kudos to the following companies and brands for LISTENING to your dealers, being willing to work with us to help improve your products, trusting and allowing Chris to ambassador your brand to some extent or other, and striving to be the BEST in the industry!! We enjoyed visiting with you and your representatives at the show!

This week weâre in Nashville giving a trailer hitch and wiring class hosted by NATDA and sponsored by B&W Trailer Hitches. Chris is the best teacher! Thanks NATDA for putting us up in the popular Margaritaville Hotel! Itâs very much like being at the beach.
Whatâs on the schedule today? Another dinghy conversion! This time itâs a 2-dr. Jeep Wrangler with a manual transmission.

Well⌠We have been absolutely overwhelmed with work since the Covid lockdowns and there doesnât seem to be any letting up⌠We are working very hard and long hours trying to keep up with the demand on our services. We have adopted a queue-style of scheduling that is allowing us to serve more people by focusing on the deadline dates of our customers. We havenât missed a deadline yet! However, spring is right around the corner and we are already heavily booked through the 2nd week of March. Installation opportunities between now and your travel plans are fading away. If youâre trying to get work done before then, please consider calling sooner rather than later for a better chance at getting you in! In this photograph are two full dinghy/flat-towing conversions (the Jeep Cherokee and Mini Cooper), a full towing package with extensive electrical wiring (the Toyota RAV-4 Hybrid) and a full trailer suspension rebuild (the scissor lift trailer). This work alone has us booked with no wiggle room for the next 5 to 6 business days!
