Love when my in-laws provide the turts with fresh veggies from their garden! Thank you karla and Danny for the greens!

All turtles tortoises and terrapins have been marked save from last night storm.

We might have been in the yard at 5am draining some tanks in our jammies but everyone is accounted for!

Tortoises were not prepared for a swim day. 😅

📢🐢💜 Turtle Update 📢🐢💜

Vet day went exactly how expected!

Little miss sunshine our African side neck girly has gotten another 20 doses of shots that we have started administering today! We're hopeful she's going to make a speedy recovery after this next round of treatment.

Carol Baskin has obvious shell rot but after going through my treatment program with the veterinarian she concluded I was doing a great job and to just move forward with regular schedule I had planned.

Sheldon I really wanted to s*x. At around 12 years old he was giving signs that he was a girl but his parents said that the VET said it was a boy. So I had to give momma a surprise (and very delayed) gender reveal. 😅

Mom was shocked. I suggested calling her Shirley for the time being but we'll see. Anyway our big GIRL does infact have a shell fungus. We went ahead and took a sample but before we send it off we're going to try to treat it ourselves and see how that goes.

⚠️ New Turtle Alert ⚠️

Say Hello to Shellys tank mate Geodude! (Formally known as sheldon)

This is one special guy and I'm sure you can already tell! So shellys and Geodudes mom called me late last week and before this sweet woman could get a sentence out she was in tears on the phone. I am currently not taking anymore sliders but I also have trouble saying no and my heart is bigger then my backyard.

She thought she had done this turtle a complete disservice and was absolutely ashamed in the look of this little guy!

We made a game plan and got over asap. Once fully looking at geodude and his shell it actually looked so healthy. No signs of shell rot or discoloration! It was strong and vibrant just a little misshapen! Turtles are born like this all the time! Now this birth defect along with some Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) can just make for one goofy looking dude!

I did my best in assuring her that she actually did a wonderful job taking care of these guys! The most important part is that she cared so deeply for theses beautiful creatures the moment she thought something was wrong she asked for help! She ended up coming over to the house and checking out all of our tanks and enclosures were working on!

Her two shell babies have been a wonderful addition to the turtle squad and we can't wait for you guys to follow along on their journey!

⚠️ New Turtle Alert ⚠️

We would love to introduce you guys to this pretty girl named Shelly! She is in great health and is feisty as can be! I'd love to take some extra time cleaning up her shell and bringing out her more natural colors.

She came to us from a very loving family who I can't wait to tell you all about in our next post when we introduce her absolutely perfect tank mate!

Can't wait to keep you guys updated on her life here at Turtle Utopia Inc.!

It is vet day for 3 of our shell babies!

Sheldon and Carol Baskin are going in for shell rot and shell fungus check and treatment and sunshine is going back to the vet for a more thorough exam!

Sunshine has taken all of her shots from her last visit and swelling has gone down 90%! She is still showing some behavior issues and small signs of sickness.

We got two new intakes today! Another turtle rescue in the books!
