Introducing the inaugural Sankofa Homecoming hosted by Play Cousins Collective! This is a Juneteenth celebration of liberation, play and community in Chickasaw Park.
This event is presented in partnership with Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Louisville Parks and Recreation, Matro United Way, Splendid Events and Children at Play Network.

Friday night, we at Splendid Events, LLC were honored to serve as Event Managers for the AMPED Dream Maker Awards, an unforgettable evening celebrating community leadership, achievement, and the bright future of Louisville’s young people.
The evening began at the beautiful Progress Park with a top-tier Cocktail Reception featuring an exceptional Tasting Experience, live entertainment by the Trip J Band, candle making by Fly Girl Candles, and signature cocktails generously sponsored by Heaven Hill and Brown-Forman.
Guests then moved inside to enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner catered by the fabulous Gore's SmokeOut BBQ, followed by an inspiring Awards Program honoring two outstanding community leaders and recognizing the accomplishments of the AMPED Music Academy Senior Class. Thank you Emcee extraordinaire Krystal Goodner for your amazing energy and keeping the program going.
The celebration concluded with an energetic After Party led by the one and only Dj John Q.
A special thank you to In The Mix Bar Service for providing exceptional beverage service, Lady J’s Lemonade, and to James Downing and Company for handling all things service, setup, and breakdown. Your professionalism and teamwork helped make the evening seamless from start to finish.

What a night! Last night at the NEW: Network of Entrepreneurial Women Showcase, Splendid Events, LLC was blessed to wear three hats: Event Managers, NEW Board Members, and authors sharing business wisdom from some extraordinary women during our She Knows Best panel.
The energy in the room was absolutely electric as we celebrated 15 years of NEW and the amazing women who continue to inspire, support, and uplift one another through entrepreneurship.
As Lauren and I roll off the NEW Board, our hearts are full. NEW has been a significant part of our lives for many years. Pamela has served on the Board since Year One—a full 15 years—and is honored to be a past President. Lauren dedicated 11 years of service as a Board Member, including seven years as President. Being part of NEW’s journey and watching its impact on women entrepreneurs throughout our community has been an incredible privilege.
Although we are concluding our Board service, we are not saying goodbye to NEW. We will remain active members and look forward to continuing to support, encourage, and celebrate this incredible organization and the women it serves.
Ending our board service with such an amazing celebration was the perfect way to close this chapter. We truly went out with a bang and a SPLENDID EVENT for our beloved NEW!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone celebration so special. We are grateful for the friendships, partnerships, and opportunities NEW has provided over the years.
Here’s to the next 15 years of empowering entrepreneurial women!

🍋💛 A SPLENDID Celebration for a Sweet New Arrival! 💛🍋
At Splendid Events, LLC, our business model has changed from coordinating private events to primarily managing corporate, nonprofit, and community events. However, for the last two weeks, we were honored to pivot. Yesterday, when it came to celebrating our niece, daughter, and cousin, we gladly made an exception!
What was originally planned as an over-the-top lemon-themed baby shower became so much more. Following a week filled with prayers, our family and friends were beyond grateful to gather together and celebrate the safe arrival of Trinity and Duwaine’s beautiful baby girl (Little Miss Dulain’e).
Congratulations Trinity and Duwaine! She is already so loved, and we look forward to watching her grow and thrive.
When life gives you lemons, celebrate the miracle. It was a SPLENDID EVENT!🍋💛
