You've been asking and it's time to answer: the rumors (and paywalled CJ article 🙄) are true! is SO back!

We're racing toward reopening as quickly as possible, so stay tuned to socials for details. We'll be singing again ASAP!

Norae's missed all of you so, so much. Our new location is being built out as we speak. In the beautiful and historic Highlands neighborhood, just a quick five minute drive from our old location, we'll be moving into the prior Gravely Brewing Co tap room!

It's a beautiful spot and with a little time we'll make it our own. Look for the same great vibes and even better everything else come Q2 this year!

We can't wait! If you will, please share far and wide so we're all back together and bopping when the doors reopen. 💜💜💜

The time has almost come for us to sing, “So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, goodbye!”

The good news is we are fully open for 2 more weeks and are doing all kinds of fun stuff. There are events happening almost every day, including a joint birthday party between one of our owners and one of our regulars, and of course, our Grand Finale!

Come out and support us and our staff as we say goodbye to the little karaoke bar that could!

WE’RE STILL OPEN!

We’ve been extremely humbled and grateful at all the outpouring of love and sadness about our imminent closure. Thank you all so much.

That said, we’re not dead yet! Come see us this weekend, or any time between now and October 18th! We’re going to be doing huge specials and wild events as we blow things out for the next month and a half.

After 5.5 incredible years serving this community, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close NoraeBar on October 19th. Our building was sold to new owners, and they’re giving us 2 months to see the place off in style.

Over the years, NoraeBar has grown from a conversation I’d have at bars like Galaxie and Butchertown Social into a community gathering place. We’ve hosted every type of event you can imagine, from retirement parties to drag shows, to political protests, to even my own wedding reception.

We’ve had dozens of amazing staff, including folks like Kelsey, Jamie, and Havi who helped us get off the ground and get our footing, and people like Cheniqua, Shaye, Tyler, Heather, Clay, and Chris, who made us who we are today.

Most importantly, Farley, our Operating Partner, has been with us since day 1 and will be with us until day 0. It’s rare for any company to have someone as loyal, hard-working, thoughtful, self-sacrificing, and competent on its staff in general, let alone at the helm, and let alone for this long. This is a brutal business, and I can’t think of anyone I am more grateful to than him for his dedication to this concept and this team.

Maybe the only people we have to thank more than this wonderful staff are you all. This “little karaoke bar that could” has only been possible because of your support and loyalty. We’ve created a lot of memories here together. You all made this more than just a business – you made it a home.

We plan to operate normally through October 19th and look forward to celebrating these final months with you. We never got to have a Grand Opening thanks to the pandemic, so we may finally throw a Grand Opening party before we have to throw our Grand Finale.

While this chapter is ending, we’re grateful for the journey. Thank you for these amazing years.
