In our line of work, we spend a lot of time looking back at history. It’s a deeply humbling experience, and serves as a constant reminder that behind every historic date, name, or artifact is a real person who gave everything.

On International Museum Day - ICOM, this year’s theme, Museums Uniting a Divided World, feels especially meaningful. Museums and museum professionals create spaces for dialogue, reflection, and shared understanding while preserving history and expanding access to knowledge.
