Sharing gardening experiences with young children is one of our favorite parts of summer at Treehouse Learning! Our young toddlers plant sensory herbs to taste and smell, our bigger kids plant veggie gardens, and our oldest summer camp students plant a stunning rock garden!

Counting down until our River Kindergarten and Forest Pre-K graduation ceremonies later today! It has been our honor to watch these children learn and grow over the months and years at Treehouse Learning.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

We love to give our Kindergarten students things to practice counting!

Treehouse Learning participates in the Milk Caps for Moolah program with to recycle plastic milk caps. Today is collection day, with nearly 3,000 milk caps (all diligently counted into groups of 10s and 100s) being picked up for recycling, and earning money for our school. Thank you, Longmont Dairy!

Happy Earth Day from Treehouse Learning!

All year long, our curriculum inspires a love for the natural, living world around us through nature-based education, ecological literacy, and environmental stewardship. Children create art inspired by nature, using materials found in nature, and with upcycled, recycled, or repurposed materials (we call it fancy trash!). Our hope is to inspire children to love our green earth and to care for the things we love.

Once a year, we travel around the world for our annual Kindergarten Spring Performance! This year, we journeyed to Europe, where you could stroll by a cafe, sightsee famous landmarks, admire the architecture, and enjoy the artwork of European Masters, all without needing a passport, dealing with airport lines or jet-lag, or buying a ticket! Children learned all about artists to create real-life tributes. Enjoy the stained glass of Gaudí, Starry Nights and Sunflowers of Van Gogh, distorted vases and faces inspired by Picasso, Monet’s gardens & lily ponds, and from Matisse, paper shapes and other recognizable paintings.

Meanwhile, our Forest PreK students learned about the story quilts of artist/author Faith Ringgold and were asked to create a special memory through a guided art project. The result: a beautiful tapestry of creative storytelling through an artistic medium by young children who see themselves as vivid creators, artists, and innovators.

One of our favorite art projects of the year at Treehouse Learning is these stunning fabric self-portraits made in the style of Bisa Butler by our talented Kindergarten students. All it takes is a mix of inspiration, imagination, the right materials, an instructor's passion, and a group of 5-6-year-olds with the freedom to create, explore, and play through their artwork.

A little rainbow and shamrock fun for St. Patrick's Day at Treehouse Learning!

Children sort the colors of the rainbow, taste the rainbow, construct a leprechaun trap, and discover the footprints left behind!
