I remember sitting at the bar of that burrito joint, watching the room pass you by. I remember the first time you sold out a V club and being pi**ed off that there was nowhere to park on 5th Ave. I remember sneaking backstage to watch you play for 30,000 people, in the city that it took everything in my pocket and in my heart to move to. It’s safe to say I’ve been chasing you for a long time . Just like you told me that day I’ve learned how to run fast!

I came to Louisville from West Virginia as a boy who thought he was a man, not realizing I’d never lived in a truly diverse community. This city cracked me open. Its cultures beautiful, vibrant, and sometimes painfully segregated, gave me the agency to choose who I become.

From Latin dance floors, to conversations with proud African immigrants who carry their traditions with grace, I’ve learned more about what it means to be an American from people who have journeyed continents to build peace and possibility here in Louisville.

So as I proudly stand with the team putting on the this Sunday at The Whirling Tiger, I’m reminded Home isn’t where you’re from.. it’s where they call your name in the street.

To say I’m excited would be and undercut to all the work and joy that the Bibelhauser Brothers have poured into this project! It only feels right to be there with my family and I hope to see the Scott T. Smith family out there celebrating as well! If you haven’t been to see Cait Justice.. then you are just missing out! This is going to be one for the family photo album!

To all my friends that call yourself fans.. I feel the exact same way about He inspires me to sing forgotten melodies from those who sang before us and not care some much what hell people call your music. This man is Rock & Roll, he is a Storyteller with a guitar, and most of all he is my friend. Hope to see all my big ol’ family out for this one! We’ll be at on March 1st!! I’m going to leave his ticket link in my bio until the show! I can’t wait to see what a memory this will be.
