This past weekend, I was able to witness two incredible moments I wanted to share.

I spent Saturday afternoon at Louisville Metro Animal Services highlighting a dog named Zee with Friends of Metro Animal Services, Louisville, KY. Zee is a dog that came to the shelter after being rescued from a drug bust in Louisville. The things she witnessed and endured should have made her untrusting and closed off. But, she turned out the opposite.

Since coming to the shelter in October, she has lived with a foster family and has grown into the most loving, accepting, and attention-seeking girl. No matter who you are, she found her way to you. While we were meeting her and filming her spotlight, a couple saw her through the window and knew she was the one for them and started the adoption process right then and there.

A pinch yourself kind of moment.

On Sunday, I attended a gravesite dedication at Cave Hill Cemetery with Iroquois Neighborhood Association. Rosa Phillips Stonestreet was the first woman elected as JCPS superintendent back in 1898. And for nearly 100 years, she has laid in an unmarked grave in one of our country's national cemeteries. That was until a group of South Louisville residents changed that. They ensured Stonestreet was remembered and truly etched in history forever. And now she is.

I had to pinch myself again.

These moments are such a clear sign that our community's love, dedication, and passion is truly changing lives and leaving a lasting impact. 💛
