“One of the best gifts I’ve ever given myself!” ✈️

Irina recently joined us at our Louisburg location for an introductory flight with instructor Sarah Bass and got a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to learn to fly.

From the pre-flight briefing and safety checks to taking the controls in the air for the very first time, she experienced the excitement, adrenaline, and confidence that comes with stepping into the cockpit. She even got to try maneuvers like steep turns and zero gravity - and yes, the flight time counts toward your pilot certificate if you decide to continue training later.

Our introductory flights are designed for complete beginners and include both ground instruction and flight time with one of our experienced instructors. We offer 30-minute and 1-hour intro flights for both airplanes and helicopters.

Ready to experience it for yourself?

Autorotation training in action 🚁

This maneuver is one of the most important emergency procedures helicopter pilots learn. In this video, the engine is brought to idle, allowing the rotor system to spin independently while the helicopter safely glides toward the ground using airflow and downward momentum to keep the blades turning.

During an autorotation, pilots carefully manage airspeed, rotor RPM, and blade pitch to maintain control all the way to the landing spot. It’s a skill that requires precision, focus, and consistent training, and a critical part of becoming a safe, confident helicopter pilot.
