Brand newest obsession! Pets are messy, that’s not new. I layer a waterproof couch cover under a canvas drop cloth so I don’t have to deep clean my couches every weekend. The animals dirty it up real quick, but I don’t have the bandwidth to change this set up every day (sometimes they’re clean for less than five minutes!!). I decided to add another layer using my vintage sheets. Easy to change out when they get hairy, I can always have a clean surface to sit on, and they’re HELLA CUTE!! Shasta, Sutter, and Butterscotch love the aesthetic look.

Yesterday at the market, I was doing what I always do. Sitting there brainstorming. I was thinking about whether my area rug would fit under the tables. I was making mental notes that I needed to make more axolotl necklaces. I was thinking about little changes to my display and what I should pack differently next time.

And then, sometime during the last hour, it all changed.

It wasn’t that anything bad happened. It was a good day, actually.

I’ve genuinely loved doing single day markets and the seasonal ones, like The Market Turlock and Riverbank Night Market. I’ve met wonderful customers, gotten to know other sellers, and had some really great conversations. I wouldn’t change a single thing. But I realized something. I love these events more as a shopper than as a participant. I love wandering around and seeing what other people have created. I love seeing the creativity that flows through them. I love having conversations and finding that one thing that makes me stop and smile.

I think I’d rather be the lady wandering around with an iced coffee, buying everybody else’s cool stuff.

Today I’m tired, but I’m much more mentally energetic. It feels like I’ve released what I’m not supposed to be doing. There’s been a lot of that happening lately, realizing that what works really well for other people is not necessarily the right choice for me.

Now, I’m going to grab my coffee and run towards what feels right for me. And I genuinely hope that the space I’m vacating will be cherished by the person who is picking up their coffee and running towards their own dreams.

This is not goodbye, I’m not walking away. I’m just finding a different place from which to show up 💕
