Sometimes the story takes an unexpected little detour. 💙
Sweet Ellis Earnshaw had an adoption lined up, but due to circumstances completely unrelated to her, it wasn’t able to move forward. So this squishy, toy hoarding, zoomie powered little bulldog mix is once again searching for her happily ever after.
Ellis is the kind of puppy who treats every toy like a priceless treasure, every meal like the most exciting event in history, and every day like an adventure worth celebrating. She’s full of wiggles, wonder, and enough enthusiasm to empty an entire toy box before breakfast.
She does have some orthopedic challenges that will require lifelong joint support and thoughtful care, but don’t tell Ellis that she’s supposed to slow down. She’s too busy living her best life.
We know her family is out there. The one who will look at this delightfully wonky little girl and think, “Yep. That’s our Ellis.”

❤️ EMORIE STARLING IS READY FOR HER FOREVER HOME. ❤️
Emorie couldn’t just be a dog. For years, she worked harder than she ever should have had to just to breathe, eat, and feel comfortable. But if you ask Emorie about any of that, she’d probably rather climb into your lap and pretend none of it happened.
After multiple life changing surgeries, including BOAS correction and repair of her pyloric stenosis and hiatal hernia, Emorie is finally getting to experience life the way it was always meant to be. She’s breathing easier, feeling better, and rediscovering her strength a little more every day.
And what we’ve learned is that beneath all that resilience is the sweetest little shadow you’ve ever met. Emorie is a professional cuddler, a certified stage five clinger, and happiest when she’s tucked right beside her person. She’s wonderfully crate trained, fully potty trained, great on walks, and quiet and polite in public. While she’s starting to explore more of the world around her, she’d still choose snuggles over toys every single time.
She does have a mild congenital hip defect, but she compensates beautifully and simply needs joint supplements and regular exercise to keep her feeling her best. Her ideal home will also continue feeding a rehydrated freeze dried raw or homemade diet to support her sensitive digestive system.
This journey would not have been possible without her incredible foster, Sara, who loved her through every step, Dr. Pedraza and his amazing team at , and every person who donated, shared, and rooted for her along the way.
Now, for the first time in a very long time, Emorie isn’t waiting for another surgery or another recovery. She’s waiting for her family!

🚨 URGENT!! EMERGENCY INTAKE
This sweet English Bulldog had just given birth when we received an urgent call asking for help. There was no safe long-term placement available for her, and it was clear she needed medical attention immediately.
Our team quickly came together, and one of our volunteer hero’s Somer dropped everything to rush out and bring mom and her puppies to safety.
The timing could not have been more critical. Once at the hospital, the doctor confirmed that mom was suffering from pneumonia aspiration and uterine infection, explaining the severe breathing difficulties she had been experiencing. She was admitted overnight for intensive treatment and monitoring.
While her surviving puppies are currently doing well, heartbreakingly, only three babies made it. As devastating as that is, we’re incredibly grateful this family was brought to safety when it was. Without intervention, the outcome could have been much worse.
Now this exhausted mama has a chance to focus on what matters most: healing and caring for her babies.
Unfortunately, emergency cases like this come with significant medical expenses. Between hospitalization, diagnostics, medications, ongoing treatment, and supplies for both mom and puppies, the costs add up quickly. If you’re able to contribute, no amount is too small. Every donation helps us continue providing the lifesaving care this little family desperately needs.

Los Angeles! Who’s joining us for Paws & Pearls?🍷🐾
We’re bringing some of our favorite Roadogs along for the evening, including Dot, Ellis, Pixie, Rodger, Sebastian, Starla, Twinks, and Wabi. If you’ve been following their journeys, this is your chance to meet them in person, give them some love, and maybe even sneak in a few puppy kisses.
We’ll be spending the evening enjoying wine, oysters, puptails, dog-made art, and good company all while raising funds for rescue dogs who need us.
Whether you’re interested in adopting, fostering, volunteering, or just want an excuse to hang out with some really cute dogs, we’d love to see you there.

Our adorable little Eazzy had his airway done yesterday! Thank you so much everyone who supports and donates so we can take care of every lovable lemon we have in our care. Eeyore Pumpernickel also had airway so both are recovering for the weekend at the hospital. We couldn’t do this without you! Thank YOU! ❤️
A lot of people don’t realize that Roadogs is completely foster-based… which means we can only save dogs if we have fosters willing to take them in.
We don’t have a rescue building or sanctuary where dogs go after we pull them from the shelter. Usually they head to vet boarding first so we can get them evaluated, start medical care, get them comfy, and figure out what they need. But after those first few days, they need a real place to land. A home environment. A couch to nap on. Someone to love them while they wait for forever.
That’s why fosters are truly the reason rescue works.
If you’re in Los Angeles or Southern California and have been wanting to make a bigger difference, please consider fostering with us. We send out pleas with the dog’s photo and whatever info we have, and you can let us know if you’re interested.
We also REALLY need temp fosters. Even if you can only help for a few days here and there, it makes a huge impact. Temp fosters help when someone goes out of town, needs backup support, or when a dog just needs a short-term place to crash before their next foster home.
There are so many ways to help in rescue, but fostering is one of the biggest things that allows us to keep saying yes to dogs who need us most.
