Our 2026 Community Impact Awards Luncheon honors two of Connectopod's youth producers.

Our first honoree is Melissa Peruch, host and producer of restrictED, a series about eating disorders and treatments as told through interviews and personal narrative.

Our second honoree is Nysha Prasad, host of Mind Matters, a series on teen mental health. Her series includes interviews with mental health professionals. Each episode delves into a facet of mental health, healthy coping strategies, and resources for teens.

Both Melissa and Nysha have drawn on their own personal experiences to address serious issues facing young people today.

Get tickets today and join us for an amazing event!

Mind Matters Episode 8 is available! In this episode, Nysha Prasad interviews mental health advocate Mariyah Williams.

They discuss the generational gap in understanding mental health, why Gen Z is more open about discussing emotional well-being, and how older generations often approach mental health differently. Together, they explore how these differences developed, the stigma that still exists, and how honest conversations can help bridge the gap and create more supportive communities.

Thank you to host, Nysha Prasad, for highlighting the importance of teen mental health issues!

Throwback to March 2024 at Chinatown Los Angeles Public Library! This is some behind the scenes footage of Connectopod CoDirector, Betsy, demonstrating microphone setup and how to check the gain before an interview. The AC was so loud in this room! You can hear it on this video 😆

All of our youth participants get hands-on training with recording equipment from day one! Some even leave our sessions with portable "to go" mic kits to record interviews in the community. This was such a great project to work on!
