ā¤ļø Service in action!
Students and staff from JunĆpero Serra High School recently spent the day serving at Union Rescue Mission, helping prepare and serve dinner for guests staying at the Mission. š½ļø
In addition to serving meals, they took a tour and learned more about how URM walks alongside our neighbors experiencing homelessness, providing hope, healing, and a path toward a new beginning.
Thank you, JunĆpero Serra High School, for sharing your time, compassion, and servant hearts with our community. Together, we are making a differenceāone meal, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time. š

Herbalife went above and beyond for our dads and the entire Angeles House community this week! š
They started the day with delicious morning shakes and followed it up with an incredible lunch that brought everyone together. On top of that, each dad received thoughtful gifts, including computer bags and water bottle kits.
Moments like these remind us how powerful community partnerships can be. Itās not just about the meals or the giftsāitās about making people feel seen, valued, and supported on their journey.
We are incredibly grateful for Herbalifeās generosity, kindness, and continued partnership. Thank you for investing in our families and helping create meaningful moments that make a lasting impact.
And to all the fathers out thereāHappy Fatherās Day! Thank you for your strength, sacrifice, guidance, and love. Today, we celebrate the impact you make in the lives of your children, families, and communities. We see you, we appreciate you, and we honor you.
āWhen I saw kids from broken homes like mine, it softened my heart.ā
For Obed, Fatherās Day means more than a card or a celebration. Itās a reminder of the five children he loves deeply and the new life he is building so he can be the father they need.
When Obed arrived at Union Rescue Mission, he had lost so much: his marriage, custody of his children, and hope for the future. But through counseling, spiritual guidance, literacy support, and meaningful service, God began restoring what was broken.
Today, for Obed, the way home is all about continued growth, serving, working toward a skilled trade, and getting closer to regaining full custody of his children.
This Fatherās Day, we thank God for stories of restoration and for every dad taking the next faithful step toward healing, responsibility, and love.

A beautiful new mural now welcomes young people and families into the Hope Gardens Youth Department amphitheaterāa vibrant reminder of hope, growth, and transformation.
In partnership with Allie Mayernik and For the Need Foundation, this special project brought together teens, volunteers, and staff to create something far greater than a work of art. With every brushstroke, our community poured creativity, purpose, and heart into a shared vision.
Thoughtfully selected by Hope Gardens leadership, staff, and guests, the mural reflects the values that guide everything we do: Hope, Family, Education, and Transformation. More than paint on a wall, it stands as a daily reminder that every young person has incredible potential and that bright futures are built through encouragement, opportunity, and community.
This is what it looks like when people come together to invest in the next generation.
A heartfelt thank you to Allie Mayernik, For the Need Foundation, our dedicated staff, incredible volunteers, and amazing teens for bringing this vision to life. Your impact will be felt for years to come. š

Today we honor Juneteenthāa celebration of freedom, resilience, and hope.
As we remember the end of slavery in the United States, we also recognize that the work of building a more just and equitable society continues. Racism has no place in our communities, and every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and love.
At Union Rescue Mission, we believe every life has God-given value and every person deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Happy Juneteenth. ā¤ļøšš
