Project Lux

We had a Janss picnic during our regular general meeting time last Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who came!

This past weekend, we hosted an event at the Skid Row Refresh Spot where we passed out care packages in reusable string bags, helped answer questions about insurance, and gave out free Jersey Mike’s sandwiches! Thanks to all of our incredible volunteers for all of their help 🫶

Pie a P-Lux is one of our favorite fundraisers to host! We had such a fun time getting pied by loved ones and strangers alike on BruinWalk to raise funds for our org!

Earlier this month, we had our annual board retreat! This year, we went to Joshua Tree and had an amazing time hiking and exploring local businesses.

Our board retreats allow our current board members and incoming board members to get to know each other on a more personal level, and are always such a highlight!

Here’s a new opportunity for our undergraduate members that we’re super excited about! If you have a friend in mind, please fill out the Peer Referral Form using the LinkTree in our bio! Filling out the form will fulfill one general volunteering requirement and will make you eligible for an MD letter of recommendation from the Project Lux founder beginning next year. Please also remember to refer friends in California and New York!

This quarter, Clara officially took on the role as Advocacy Director! She has been training with our previous Advocacy Director, Niku, for the past two quarters and has already made a phenomenal impact on the club. We’re so excited to see all you will do!

Feeling so grateful for another busy quarter with Project Lux!

This winter, our members presented on healthcare-related topics at New LA Middle School, presented at CSC’s Houselessness Day of Service, and created and distributed multiple batches of care packages!

Our members also volunteered at St. Mark food pantry and Cuts n’ Care, as well as multiple committee and general member meetings.

We are so proud of everybody’s hard work this quarter!
