This week, the IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors (BOG) convened in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for our second in-person meeting of 2026! It was an incredibly productive week of strategy and collaboration. We were thrilled by the strong hybrid turnout, with remote BOG members dialing in globally to ensure all voices were heard.
Among several critical strategic objectives, the BOG held vital discussions on the evolving role of the IEEE Computer Society in AI and Education, ensuring our community remains at the forefront of technological literacy and ethical innovation. On our final day, we welcomed representatives from IEEE MOVE, an initiative the Computer Society proudly sponsors. Since its inception, IEEE MOVE has assisted over 1.1 million survivors and first responders globally during disasters by providing critical power and communications tech.
A huge round of applause for our volunteers! Our society thrives because of dedicated minds. Drop a comment below to thank our BOG members and the incredible IEEE MOVE volunteers for their leadership and service! π
