The good, the bad and the ugly of Round 1 of the SXCS Sprint Cross Country Series.
Finally! Time to knock off the cob webs as we get back to racing in round 1 of the SXCS series at Promisedlandmx. This race was a Grand Prix style race which is two 30 minute motos with a mix of motorcross track and fast flowy woods. What a beautiful track it was!
We’ll start with the good! Lisa is back! After more than a year off due to an acl and meniscus injury and surgery, Lisa was ready to get back out there. Her bike on the other hand had a mechanical issue that caused it not to start for the but luckily she was able to borrow Alex’s full size KTM 300! Although jumping on the bike for the first time at the start of the race, she was able to put down 2 solid motos and end up with a 10th place finish in the huge line of Women’s C riders.
Alexander also put down 2 solid motos in the cold foggy morning and ended up about half way up the pack in 13th place in the Open C class.
New comer to the team and to racing is John aka Jack. Jack had a great time showing that he means business. Putting down some respectable times for a first timer coming in 18th place in the Vet C class.
The bad…
Brian got off to a slow start in the 1st moto, but would eventually start picking his way through the pack. He was able to pass his buddy Marcelo a few laps in and on the last lap but Brian made a small mistake with a lapper and Marcelo went in for the pass. Neither one gave up an inch and they both tried to squeeze 2 bikes through a 1 bike lane. Needless to say they took each other out. 🥴 They both rushed to get back on the track but Marcelo got the upper hand. The wreck caused an injury to Brian’s right arm which he iced trying to get the swelling to go down before he lined up for his 2nd moto. During the start of the 2nd moto, Brian would be taken out in a first turn pile up landing right on his injured arm. “Every bump was radiating through my right arm, it was hard to hold on” said Brian. He would end up with the 14th position in the Vet B class.
The ugly…
Mikey Erwin would have a slow start in the 1st moto but would eventually start picking off riders left and right throughout the first lap. As we watched Mikey come around the motocross track passing a couple more riders, tragedy struck. A simple front wheel wash out on the slick track would leave Mikey on the ground screaming in pain. He was carted off in the abmbulance to Cumberland hospital where it was determined he had suffered a broken fibula. They set the leg and transported him to University of Maryland Hospital to perform surgery. As of now everything is going well and he’ll be back at it! “I’m not afraid of a broken leg, I want to get back out there!” Mikey said right before his surgery. We all hope for a speedy recovery and we will keep you posted here as more info comes in. Thank you to everyone for all your well wishes for him!!
Huge thank you to Urban East , Law Tigers and Law Tigers Virginia for all your continued support!!!
Looking forward to Round 2 on November 13th at Wicomico Motorsports Park.

Last weekend the team headed to Charles City Dirt Riders this weekend for Bob's 80th Birthday Bash and oh man was it a good time! We got a nice waterfront spot where we could see the sunset and the sunrise and best of all there was something for everyone. Hard enduro, mx, woods, grass track, pit bike racing, costume contest and the biggest bonfire we’ve ever seen! 🏁🏍🔥🌅🤘🏼 Solid weekend of riding. Thanks Jesse White and hope your dad had a great birthday celebration!

New Years weekend was a big celebration for Urban East Racing! It started off with ringing in the new year with lots of freinds, food, and Lisa’s favorite, karaoke 🎤🎶. Saturday was an all day downpour that continued all the way up to the SXCS Sprint Cross Country Series 2021 Awards Banquet. Last year was an exciting one riddled with highs and lows.
#28 Lisa Audet tore her ACL and meniscus at the fist race of the 2021 season and tried to hang on to any championship points by starting most races even with her ACL torn 95% but was tired of not being able to ride 💯 and decided to have surgery in November.
#33 Will Linkous who was sitting in the number 2 spot in the Open C class for half the season ended up breaking his back on a practice day in May which brought his season to and end.
As for the highs;
#71 Alexander Hernandez got 4th place in Open C class of the SXCS series and 1st place in the Maryland Off Road Championship series which is an American Motorcyclist Association featured series so he was awarded 2 #1 plates.
#55 Bob Audet ended the season in 4th place in the Masters 60+ class
#35 Brian Audet raced in the Vet 30+ B class for 2021 and was able to pull off a 5th place!
HUGE shout out to Law Tigers Virginia & Law Tigers for their support and to all the SXCS crew for making these races happen.
Can’t wait to see what 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣2️⃣ brings us!! 🏁🏍💨🏆

Rnd 2 of the SXCS Sprint Cross Country Series is in the books! This was a GP format race which consists of 2-30minute motos of motocross track and fast woods sections. The day started off pretty soggy after an all night rain. First up was Alex and Will in the Open C Class. Both had pretty great starts in their first moto and both had pretty good results. In the second moto Alex had a tree jump out out him going into the woods he was fine but his bike was a little twisted up. He was able to pull of a 14th overall in his class for the day and Will would end up 5th. 💪🏼🏁
Getting into the afternoon the dirt started off quite muddy but tacked up pretty nice by the end of the day. Bob had a great run ending up 4th overall in the Masters 60+ class but most importantly he got the hole shot in his 2nd moto which lead to a great finish!
Mikey battled through the mud to make it to the finish line and completed his first SXCS race in the Juniors class finishing 5th! He even got his dad out riding who completed his first moto and was unable to start the second due to mechanical problems.
Brian would have a great run in the Vet B Class and would end up with a 5th place giving him some good points to start off the season.
Last but not least, in her 1st moto Lisa had an amazing start to the race but stopped on the track to help an injured rider who broke her leg. In her 2nd moto Lisa would find her own leg was not ready to go racing as a mid race fall would leave her in a good amount of pain and back on crutches from her previous injury at the beginning of the year.
We’ll be back at it this weekend in Bristol VA, stay tuned. 🏁🏁🏁

Alright everybody. We’re finally getting back into the race season. Rnd 2 is just around the corner but first we need to give you guys a recap of rnd 1. The good the bad and the ugly. Rnd 1, the iconic Hangover Hare Scramble which takes place in the middle of winter. It was a weekend of heavy rain and deep mud.
The good: Alex and Will had a great run in the Open C class, surviving the worst of conditions and showing what they are made of. Alex ended up with 10th and Will ended with a 6th place.
The bad: Although Brian had a great start to the race and was sitting in 6th place by the start of the 3rd lap. He would end up running out of gas 2 miles from the finish, finally making it out of the woods after the sun had set on the muddy beat up race track.
The ugly: Lisa was unable to make the start line after a crash in Saturday’s riders clinic with Becca Sheets. She ended up having a torn meniscus which has required a lot of rehab and doctors visits to get her to this weekends race.
All in all it was a fun weekend but we left a lot on the table and we will be back at for rnd 2.
