Today, we celebrated International Dot Day—where literacy meets art! 📚🎨

Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ The Dot, students learned about Vashti, a student who discovers that one simple dot can be the beginning of something extraordinary. The story reminds us to take creative risks, believe in ourselves, and make our mark!

Our students and staff showed their spirit by wearing dots and creating their own unique dots for a collaborative art piece. Each dot is different, but together they make something amazing—just like our Foster community! ♥️

This is IB learning in action, connecting literacy, art, creativity, collaboration, reflection, and the IB Learner Profile.

👏 A huge thank you to Ms. Jones, art teacher, for coordinating this wonderful cross-curricular celebration!

On September 15th, students and staff are invited to wear POLKA DOTS to celebrate National Dot Day and show how YOU are making a mark here at Foster!

Whether you’re making a difference in the classroom, helping a friend, showing kindness, trying something new, or simply being the best version of yourself—your mark matters!

This celebration connects to the IB Learner Profile Trait of COMMUNICATOR. 💬 Students have opportunities to express themselves, share their ideas, encourage others, and use their voices to make a positive difference in our school community.

So, pull out your dots, spots, and polka dots and let’s show Foster that every person has the power to make a difference!
