In another disturbing incident tied to the Karmelo Anthony case, a Black man assaulted a random White man in the face, believing he served on the jury that convicted Anthony of murdering Austin Metcalf.
He also threatened the man’s life, saying “You gonna die.”
This is the dangerous result of months of racial grievance, media spin, and tribal loyalty that turned a clear murder case into a race war narrative.
Innocent people are now being targeted in the streets over a verdict they had nothing to do with.
Austin Metcalf was stabbed in the heart.
A jury found Karmelo guilty based on the evidence. And this is how some are responding, with more violence and threats.
This kind of unhinged behavior shows exactly why so many are concerned about the cultural rot on display throughout this case.
Prayers for the victim of this random attack. Enough with the hatred.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – FRAUDULENT COURT NOTICE 🚨
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office wants to make the public aware of a circulating scam involving fake “Final Enforcement Notices” similar to the one pictured.
These documents may appear official, often using state seals, legal language, and threats of enforcement action to create urgency and fear. They commonly include a QR code or payment instructions demanding immediate payment for alleged traffic violations, toll fees, or court costs.
⚠️ Here’s what you need to know:
* Government agencies DO NOT demand payment through QR codes or unofficial links.
* You will not be threatened with immediate enforcement action without proper legal process and verified court communication.
* Scammers rely on panic, don’t rush to pay.
🛑 Do NOT:
* Scan the QR code
* Send money or provide personal information
* Click on any suspicious payment links
✅ What you SHOULD do:
* Verify any court-related notice by contacting the court directly using official contact information
* Reach out to your local law enforcement agency if you are unsure
* Report the scam to help protect others in our community
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is committed to keeping you informed and safe. If you receive a notice like this and have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The devastating news of Joshua Trent’s arrest serves as a somber reminder of the weight of spiritual responsibility. Trent, a 42-year-old former youth pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church and former VP of a church software company, was arrested on April 12, 2026, facing two felony counts of s*xual battery.
Reports indicate a heartbreaking breach of trust spanning from 2016 to 2022. The victim, who was only 15 when the grooming allegedly began, revealed a pattern that disguised itself as 'innocent' church interactions. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office noted that Trent used his position to build a 'custodial relationship.' When the victim attempted to resist, Trent reportedly used spiritual and emotional manipulation, even threatening to 'harm himself with a handgun' to ensure her silence.
As a faith community, we are called to protect the vulnerable. Scripture warns us that where much is given, much is required. Our prayers go out to the survivor, seeking Jesus’ healing hand for the deep wounds inflicted within the walls of a sanctuary. This is a call for every church to pursue radical transparency and accountability, ensuring that the light of Christ always exposes the darkness.

‼️FORMER SCHOOL EMPLOYEE SENTENCED — NO S*X OFFENDER REGISTRY‼️
A former Kilgore ISD instructional aide pleaded guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.
Kayla Nicole O’Dell, 34, received:
• 10 years deferred adjudication
• Up to 20 years in prison if she violates supervision
• Lifetime revocation of her teaching certification
• $1,000 in court fees
⚠️ She will NOT be required to register as a s*x offender.
Texas law exempts registry when the student is 17 or older and the employee has no prior criminal history.
O’Dell worked at Kilgore ISD from August 2023 until January 2025, when the district began investigating alleged misconduct. She was arrested the following month and pleaded guilty this week.
➡️ Deferred adjudication = not a conviction unless she violates it.
(Kilgore ISD says the district followed all required reporting protocols during the investigation.)
