Gregg County is kicking off the celebration of America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, April 11th with a full day of festivities!

To help bring the spirit to downtown Longview, the City has invited volunteers to transform fire hydrants with patriotic red, white, and blue designs. 🇺🇸

Learning water gilding has been on my list for years, and I finally got the chance to dive in with a two-day (6-hour!) class at the WCAF Expo here in Orlando.

Let me tell you — water gilding is not for the faint of heart. It takes patience, precision, and a steady hand. But when that gold leaf lays down just right? Absolutely worth it.

Not too bad for a beginner — and definitely a skill I’m excited to keep refining.

It’s that time of year again — WCAF 2026 in Orlando!

I’m spending three full days in classes and two days on the Expo floor exploring everything the framing industry’s top vendors and suppliers have to offer at the West Coast Art & Frame Expo.

At Art World, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of our craft — whether it’s restoration, conservation framing, or the latest innovations in design and materials. Continuing education is a big part of delivering the highest quality work to our clients.

I’m excited to bring back a wealth of new knowledge, ideas, and techniques that will translate directly into even better framing for our customers.
