We are incredibly thankful to the Longview District FFA Chapters for thinking of Texas Star Rescue during your donation drive. ❤️🐾
Every roll of paper towels, every bag of food, every bottle of detergent, and every single item you donated helps us provide the best care possible for the animals who depend on us. Your generosity eases the burden and allows us to focus on what matters most—saving lives.
We truly couldn't do what we do without the support of our amazing community. Thank you for looking out for us and for making a difference for the animals in our care. We are beyond grateful! 💙💛
🚨 Things Our Dogs Definitely Told Us... (That We Definitely Didn't Verify.) 🤭🐾
We can't confirm a single one of these claims... but we can confirm they're all looking for forever homes. ❤️
Which one made you laugh the hardest? 😂👇

Things Our Dogs Told Us... (That We Definitely Didn't Verify.) 🐾
Here's what they insisted was true...
🚜Luke is a legally certified forklift operator. We haven't seen the license, but he insists it's in his other collar.
🎰Grizzle knows the winning lottery numbers, but won't tell us.
📋Stormy pays her taxes early every year!
🇫🇷Oscar speaks fluent French. He just refuses to prove it.
🥼Crim has three PhDs. He's just humble about it.
🐬Bella Lou is fluent in Dolphin.
🐳Little Bit is fluent in Whale. Between the two of them, Communication is somehow... flawless.
🎣Pookie says he once caught a fish as big as... or maybe even bigger than Roxy.
💖Roxy insists she's only 24 pounds because she's "big b***d."
🥸Pearl insists she has 20/20 vision. She's not taking questions.
🏀Sophie says she's the real Sophie Cunningham.
Okay... maybe they stretched the truth just a little.🫣
Warning: Texas Star Rescue dogs have been caught exaggerating on their résumés. Fortunately, they're much better at being best friends than they are at telling the truth. ❤️🐾
P.S. Every one of these goofballs is available for adoption and unlike their stories... their capacity to love you is 100% true. 🐶❤️

🐾 Little Update on Our Tiny Duo! 🐾
These two sweet Chihuahuas are making slow but steady progress. Every day they're getting a little more comfortable, a little more trusting, and letting their personalities shine. Watching scared dogs realize they're finally safe is one of the best parts of rescue. ❤️
They're still on the road to recovery, and we're so grateful to everyone who has donated and cheered them on. Every dollar truly makes a difference.
While you're here, take a minute to check out our "Dogs Available for Adoption" album. There are so many incredible dogs patiently waiting for their forever families, and they deserve their chance too. Your perfect match might be just one scroll away.
Thank you for continuing to support Texas Star Rescue. We couldn't do this without you. 🐾❤️
Every time we announce that intake is closed, we know some people get frustrated. We understand. But this... this is exactly why Texas Star Rescue exists.
Friday evening we were contacted about an emergency after a woman passed away, leaving her dogs alone in the home. Situations like this don't wait until intake reopens. They don't wait until it's convenient. They require immediate action.
A volunteer met with the landlord at the house as quickly as she could. We brought two Chihuahuas into our care. Both were covered in fleas. One is painfully underweight and suffering from severe skin issues.
Originally, there were five dogs. Family members took two. The last little one was beyond saving. A wonderful veterinarian came to the home and compassionately helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge. Our volunteer held him in her arms so he didn't have to leave this world alone.
This is what we do.
When we temporarily close intake, it isn't because we don't care. It's because we have to make sure we have the resources, space, and volunteers available for emergencies exactly like this..
These two little dogs have a long road ahead, and we'll be sharing their journey with you. If you'd like to help with their medical care, flea treatment, food, and everything they'll need to heal, we would be so grateful.

Meet Grizzle ("Grizz") 🐾
Don't let the scruffy face fool you... underneath all that wire hair is a little cuddle bug just waiting for his person.
Grizzle is a 2-year-old 15lb Wirehaired Dachshund/Terrier mix (possibly Jack Russell Terrier) with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves toys, enjoys playing with other dogs, and his favorite place in the world is snuggled under the covers with his people.
Grizz is crate trained, mostly house trained with a consistent routine, and also uses potty pads. Like many Dachshunds, he's smart, stubborn, and likes to see what he can get away with. He does best with patient, confident adopters who will set clear boundaries and stay consistent.
When Grizz first came to us, he wasn't sure how to handle correction and would sometimes react by trying to nip when told "no" or redirected. With patience, routine, and trust, that behavior has faded, and he has become an affectionate, loving little guy. He simply needed someone to show him what was expected.
Because of this, we're looking for a home with teens or older (no small children) where he can continue to thrive.
If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who will keep you laughing, steal your blankets, and be your bedtime snuggle buddy, Grizzle might just be your perfect match.

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us why we do this.
Maydean, Little Bean, and Dave all found their forever homes. ❤️ Watching them leave with their new families filled our hearts.
But this morning... the rescue was still full.
Stormy is still waiting.
Luke is still waiting.
Crim is still waiting.
Sophie is still waiting.
Bella Lou & Little Bit are still waiting.
Oscar, Dancer, Pookie & Roxy... they're all still here, wondering when it will be their turn.
Every adoption is a victory, but until every kennel is empty, our work isn't done.
If you've been waiting for the right time to adopt, maybe this is it. And if you can't adopt, sharing our posts helps more than you know. The right person may only be one share away.
Let's find the rest of our dogs the happy ending they deserve. ❤️🐾
