💜 In Honor of World Alzheimer’s Day 💜

Avir at Longview held a special Fashion Show to help raise awareness and show our support for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their loved ones.

To open our fashion show, we were honored to have a special guest speaker, Ms. Shannon Trest from the local Alzheimer’s Association, who shared meaningful information and helped us learn more about the importance of awareness and support.

We then enjoyed a fun and memorable fashion show featuring our wonderful department heads, with our special emcee, Ms. Velma, keeping us smiling along the way!

But the best part was inviting our residents to join us and participate in the fashion show! Their smiles, enthusiasm, and participation made the event truly special. ❤️

This is just one of the many ways AVIR at Longview works to raise awareness, bring our residents and staff together, and make a difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

On World Alzheimer's Day, we recognize the residents and families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer's and dementia, and the caregivers who provide patience, dignity, and compassion every day. Awareness and understanding are the first steps toward better care, and we remain committed to supporting our residents and their loved ones through every stage of the journey.

🐾 Nothing brightens the day quite like a visit from our furry friends!

Remi the Party Poodle and Ginger the Aussie Doodle are always a big hit with both our residents and staff at Avir at Longview. Their visits bring plenty of smiles, gentle companionship, and joyful moments throughout our community.

We are so thankful for our pet therapy visits and the special connections they create. A little wagging tail and some puppy love can truly brighten everyone’s day! ❤️🐶

Our team enjoyed a special Lunch and Learn during our monthly staff meeting, complete with good food, great conversation, and a little celebration for our September birthdays and anniversaries.

👩‍🍳 Meet Ofelia Caberea, our Employee Spotlight at Avir at Longview!

Ofelia serves as our Head Cook in Dietary and has been a dedicated part of our building for an incredible 12 years, bringing 35 years of experience to everything she does.

Cooking is more than a job for Ofelia; it is also one of her favorite hobbies and a special way she shows her love for our residents. We are grateful for the care, dedication, and heart she brings to every meal she prepares. Please join us in celebrating Ofelia and all she does for our Avir family! ❤️

💛 Celebrating the love and wisdom of our grandparents!

Avir at Longview had a heartwarming Grandparents Day filled with thoughtful surprises and plenty of appreciation for the special people who mean so much to our families and community.

Each grandparent received a personalized card lovingly created by students from St. Mary’s, along with sweet treats generously provided by Harbor Hospice. Thank you for helping us make our residents feel extra loved and celebrated! ❤️

This National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, we celebrate the therapists, clinicians, and support staff who help our residents regain strength, mobility, and independence after illness or injury. Recovery looks different for everyone, and our teams meet each person exactly where they are, every step of the way.
