LCM competed in our very first Greater Longview United Way Cardboard Boat Race today! Special thanks to the TSA Pine Tree High School students for braving the pond at Teague Park today for "Toon Lagoon!" Teen Titans GO!

Special thanks to the Pine Tree ISD's Technology Student Association (TSA)'s student leaders for being the architects of LCM's boat! Many TSA students have volunteered with LCM in the past and it's fantastic to work with them on the Cardboard Boat Race too!

Let's BEAT Tyler and support the East Texas Food Bank! LCM works with the East Texas Food Bank to get much needed food for our clients and we appreciate your peanut butter donations!

Touch a Truck ~ Feed a Family is coming up on *October 24* and we're looking for groups to come out and lead fun and free activities for the kids! Please reach out to Lauren Land at [email protected] for more details. Thank you!

We welcomed 24 Pine Tree Junior High Project Success students and teachers to the Food Box this week and they had a fantastic experience! In addition to serving our clients with love, the students learned all about where the food comes from, how vital donations from the community are and all that LCM does right here in Longview. The students showed huge hearts for service and can't wait for more opportunities!

As you go into Labor Day weekend, please consider picking up some extra groceries at the store that are key food items for our clients. Do note that all meat donations must be *frozen* - you have some time to buy extra meat and stick it in your freezer before heading up to LCM's Food Box next week!

Since January, the LCM Food Box has given food to 11,808 people. For these families, putting food on the table is a daily challenge. A box of groceries from the Food Box means more than a meal — it means relief, hope, and knowing that someone cares.

Today is National Food Bank Day - thank you to everyone who has and will support the work of LCM! Here are a few ways everyone can help:
🥫 Donate food — Consider picking up a few extra items on your next grocery trip and donating them to the Food Box
💵 Give financially — Every donation helps us provide food and serve more of our neighbors in need.
🤝 Volunteer your time — Help us sort donations, stock shelves, prepare food boxes and serve our clients.
📣 Share our mission — Tell your friends, family, church, civic group or workplace about Longview Community Ministries and the difference they can make.

When our community comes together, we can make sure our neighbors don't have to face hunger alone. Food banks help turn kindness into meals and we are grateful for everyone who is working with LCM to serve with love!
