🍬 Meet Mama Bonbon! 🍬

Mama Bonbon came to us after someone reported a “stray” cat caring for her newborn babies. Since then, she has proven to be an incredible mother and an even more incredible cat. Sweet, affectionate, and remarkably smart, Bonbon has even figured out that doorknobs open doors—so don’t underestimate this clever girl!

Bonbon loves to cuddle and soak up attention. She’s the kind of cat who wants to be close to her people and isn’t shy about asking for affection. She also enjoys the company of dogs more than other adult cats. Like many calicos, she has a little sass to go along with her sweetness and can be a bit of a firecracker when it comes to things like brushing or handling she didn’t ask for—but that’s all part of her charming personality!

These handsome long-haired boys were rescued from the shelter and are looking for a forever home. Dutch is outgoing, friendly, and loves everyone he meets. Loki is a bit shy at first, but with a little patience, his sweet personality quickly shines through.

Meet Kiki, a 7-month-old polydactyl Siamese queen with extra toes and an extra-big heart. Kiki was adopted by someone through spcaLA at just 9 weeks old, but she was adopted out UNSPAYED. Unfortunately, and to no surprise, her adopter never brought her back for surgery (a reminder of why sending animals home unfixed can have heartbreaking consequences).

Fast forward five months, and Kiki’s owner decided to move into a rental that doesn’t allow pets. Rather than finding a safe solution, he posted her online — unfixed and vulnerable.

Thankfully, we found out in time. One of our amazing fosters in Long Beach welcomed Kiki into her home, and now she’s fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated.

Kiki is truly a ray of sunshine. She’s playful, affectionate, loyal, and loves being around her people. She’ll happily follow you from room to room, soak up all the attention you can give, and charm you with her adorable extra toes.

These two little muffins were originally scheduled to be TNR’d last week. But the moment I saw them sitting in their traps and realized how friendly they were, I knew they deserved a chance at indoor life. Thankfully, the clinic reached out to the trapper, and she agreed to let us take them into foster care instead.

Fast forward to last night, and I received the sweetest photos and videos from their foster mom. Seeing them safe, loved, and thriving is exactly why fostering saves lives. ❤️

The hard reality is that we can only pull friendly cats and kittens from being returned outside when we have open foster homes. Every day, I receive multiple requests for help—often five or more—and many have to be turned away simply because we don’t have enough fosters.

If you’ve ever considered fostering, now is the time. One open home can completely change a cat’s future. 🐾💕

One of the many community cats we knew needed urgent TNR. This poor guy was covered in matted fur, filthy, and completely flea ridden. Thankfully, he received full care at the Little Lion Foundation’s TNR clinic and was safely released back to his colony this morning. 🐾

He’s part of a small group of cats cared for at a Buddhist temple in Long Beach. Like many caretakers, they simply hadn’t been educated on the importance of TNR and proper colony management. Spaying/neutering, vaccinating, flea treatment, and deworming all play a huge role in keeping community cats healthy and preventing suffering.

Education and access to resources truly make all the difference. 💛
